Have you been breathless? Have you been disheveled? Have you been downtrodden? I recently met with a group of people and experienced great disappointment and longing. I believe God brings gifts of Easter for us to live. I think God provides bread and swords, not bread and circuses!

Are we a church of disciples of Jesus Christ who are willing to be filled not with desperation but with courage? A church that is joy-filled and not negative in outlook?

In St. John 20:19 and 22, we discover Jesus stating, "Peace be with you." Additionally, he offers a second gift for the journey, "Receive the Holy Spirit."

This Peace is bread for our souls, and this reception of the Holy Spirit is a sword for our daily struggle. It is to be nurtured by all that is holy and to carry the Vision of God in us and share it with the world.  We seek God's help amidst God's people for a reason. We are the Kingdom of God, the community of faith, the body of Christ.

Live in the authority of the Resurrection. Wander freely in the goodness of God. Be desperate for blessings and catalog each one!

In Psalm 18:46 and 49, we remind ourselves of this grace gift:

The Lord Lives!

Blessed be my Rock!...

Therefore, I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the Gentiles, And sing praises to Your name.

Blessings,

Pastor Jim
