In the course of our American experiment, the third sitting Vice President and the former Secretary of the Treasury were involved in a duel. The family of the former Secretary of the Treasury had to make a new life. I think of this incident of our great Republic to think of how the family turned ever so closely to faith in the midst of loss.
The person in our lives who rigorously maintains the clarity to stand in confidence in the abundance of the universe of possibilities fashions an environment around them that sparks thought, action, and solutions. We come to a level of trust that these places are dedicated to the notion that no one will be made wrong, people will not be talked about behind their backs, and there will be no division between "us" and "them." Yes, as difficult as it sounds. These life environments produce astonishing results that can take people in wholly unexpected directions, perhaps because all the gates are now open, inviting each participant in life to play in the meadows of the universe.
Jesus speaks to us of this in his calling all of us in St.Luke 18:27
But Jesus said, "The things that are impossible among humans are possible with God."
My paternal relatives had this Scripture upon their living room wall for each lived this moment of our American experiment and in faith in Christ.
Blessings,
Pastor Jim
