In a conversation with one from California last night, our family was enthralled at the developments one young person shared in creating art that inspired someone to see the night sky within the patterns of the piece of art.  The artist is a novice. The artist works in concrete and epoxy. These are media I would not have previously considered- concrete and epoxy. From the viewpoint of the artist, their vision is overwhelming with depth and emotion in the energy of the finished product.

How do we embrace unusual materials in life to craft something that inspires?

How are we creating with faith and love and that energy that is present to craft a life that embraces our reality and yet encourages others to look for Christ in their earthly journey? To see what others do not see at the moment. To transport others to a transformation?

I was reminded of a practice in ministry class I once took, where the professor began each class in the semester with the words from

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Those who are not looking for happiness are the most likely to find it, because those who are searching forget that the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness in others.

Let us be about the noble and gracious way of transforming lives, for we seek Christ and in turn Christ for others!

Blessings,

Pastor Jim
