DON'T FORGET TO "FALL BACK"

Daylight savings ends tonight! Don't forget to turn your clocks back one hour, or you'll be an extra-early bird at our Sunday worship services!

ADJUSTED OFFICE HOURS

Sarah, the Office Administrative Assistant (or someone else on staff), will be available Tuesdays through Fridays from 9am to 2pm. You can always feel free to email the office or leave a voicemail during all other hours and we'll respond as soon as possible!

GRAVEL LOT CLOSED

Our gravel parking lot on Derry St. is closed this weekend for maintenance! Rookies is allowing us to park in their lot (across the street next to the car wash) as needed, so feel free to do so if you have trouble finding parking in the church's other designated areas.

Please join us on Saturday, November 11 at 5pm and bring a side dish or dessert to share. Our last meal and game night was a lot of fun! Hope you can make it out! Please register here toward planning.

During 2023, the HBIC Missions Ministry Team is highlighting a different Missionary of the Month, helping the congregation to know more about their work and inviting special prayer for them throughout the month.

For the month of November, please join in praying especially for Dahru and Joyce (serving in medical ministry in Northeast India), as well as the children, Lightson, Melody Joy, Khopunii, and Leshipa.

Below is a photo of the interior of their medical clinic building being painted. They've been hard at work on the clinic for a number of years.

Click here to access the Missionary of the Month page with a number of specific prayer requests for Dahru and Joyce and family, along with their contact info to send a note of encouragement.

ROOTED SERIES

Rooted is a foundational 4-week series providing an overview of Harrisburg BIC, from our history and our commitment to multiethnic community to what it means to participate in the life of HBIC today. This is an opportunity for long-time attenders to gain a fresh vision of who we are as an (ever-changing) community of faith. Rooted can also help newcomers to answer questions and dive into deeper involvement in this community!

Our Rooted classes take place on Sunday mornings at 11am and run for 4 weeks in January, March, May, July, September and November. Sign up for our next Rooted class, starting tomorrow, November 5here or at the Info desks at the back of the sanctuary.

BOARD NEXT STEPS UPDATE

Join the board on Sunday, November 5 for an update on the Next Steps work and Pastor Hank's term renewal. We will discuss key focus areas for the church for the next 3-5 years and what resources are needed. This is an invitation to learn more about opportunities for the church and how you can be part of where we feel God is leading us. Lunch will be served in the open area at 12:30pm for all those staying for the update. Meeting to start at 1pm in the sanctuary. Childcare will be provided - please sign up here if you need childcare!

MISSIONS SUNDAY

On Sunday, November 12 we will celebrate our annual Missions Sunday! We hope you'll plan to join us, either in person or online, for this special service. Marvin Lorenzana, President of Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM), will be with us to share the morning's message, "God's Heart for the Nations." We're looking forward to the inspiration and challenge growing out of Marvin's and his wife, Mariana's, service and leadership with EMM!

Each year on Missions Sunday, we take a special Missions Offering, which is used primarily to provide a love gift to all of the missionaries sent out from our church (currently we have 14 individuals or families serving). Our Offering Goal for this year is $14,000 or more. It will take many gifts, both large and small, to reach this goal. As God directs us, let's give generously to bless our missionaries this year. You can give your Missions Offering in person at our services on November 12, or you can give online or mail a check to the church (marked for Missions Offering) anytime between now and the end of November.

MISSIONS SPOTLIGHT

Chris and Kara Kacmar, who recently completed their 15-year service as global workers with BIC World Missions in Spain, will be joining us on Wednesday, November 15 to share about the BIC's many ministries in Madrid, Hoyo, Figueras, and Asturias. We hope you'll join us in the sanctuary at 6:45 pm for their special presentation! There will be no adult study or prayer meeting on this evening.

BOUNTIFUL BLESSINGS THANKSGIVING OUTREACH

Each year, we serve our community by packing and distributing Thanksgiving meal kits! This year, we need your help on Friday, November 17 (packing kits) and Saturday, November 18 (distributing kits). Please sign up here if you are willing to volunteer! Registration to receive a box will open on November 3.

2024 DIRECTORY

In the New Year, we’re launching a new directory program that will help us centralize information across ministries. Please help us transition well by filling out a card on the info desks at the church or by completing the online form here!

FINANCE UPDATE

Our HBIC Treasurer, Rodney Sauder, provided us with a Fall Finance Update! This includes information about revenue and expenses as of September 30, 2023. Check out the video by clicking here. Thank you for supporting the ministries of the church!
