Week of June 21, 2020
As we seek to continue to keep connected as a church family even while apart from one another, below you will find several ways to participate in worship, prayer, and service with others from HBIC. We invite you to join us in any of these various ways this week!

There's also some important "announcement-type" information in this week's e-mail, so be sure to scroll the whole way through!

We continue to pray that you will experience the riches of the Lord's presence during this time that we are not able to be present with one another!
-- HBIC Pastoral Staff

Our pastoral staff are working together each week to record a worship service for our church family. The service will be available on the  HBIC YouTube Channel   on Sunday mornings by 9 am, as well as anytime thereafter.

The  Worship-At-Home Resource Page serves as a companion to the weekly worship video on the HBIC YouTube Channel and includes the song lyrics, the sermon scripture, plus some links for children. ...If you have more than one device and you'd like to see the lyrics to sing along, or have the sermon scripture handy to read along, you can have the video playing on one device while you follow along with the worship resource on the other!

May you experience the blessing of God
as you worship this week!
Happy Father's Day to HBIC fathers and spiritual fathers...

May God bless you as you pour yourselves into your children and your spiritual children!

All are invited this  Monday, June 22, 7 to 8 pm for a special meeting on Zoom to continue our HBIC Discussion on Racial Justice. As God calls his children to be advocates for justice, we encourage you to join us to talk and pray together about racial justice in our church, community, country, and world.

From Pastor Hank: "On Monday evening, we invite you to another time of prayer, sharing, and listening.  In this session, we will be specifically focusing on  how to address and talk about racial justice with friends and family.  Pastor Brie and Woody will share, and we will also set apart time for questions and sharing. As followers of Jesus, we belong to Christ and each other. As children of God, we are called to be peacemakers who bring light into our world. In a world of loud voices, let us be committed to listening, praying, and speaking the truth in grace and with love. In all things, let us keep turning to God. Please join us."

Click the button-link below to connect to the discussion. If you have any questions, contact Pastor Hank.

In case you haven't seen it yet, the BIC Church recently issued a statement,  A Response to Racism and Racial Injustice , which can be found on the denomination's website ( bicus.org ) or can be viewed  here . As we pray for our church and beyond to grow in obedience to our call to work for justice for all, let's be intentional in praying for our sister BIC congregations.

On Wednesday evenings, we are hosting a Virtual Prayer Meeting each week, an opportunity to connect together for prayer. We'll connect by using Zoom at 7 pm.

You're able to use a computer, tablet, or phone to join our Virtual Prayer Meeting with video; or call in by phone, (929) 205-6099 (meeting ID: 433-644-241) to get the audio-feed. ...You'll need Zoom installed on your device ahead of time in order to connect - if you need some guidance for this, contact   office@harrisburgbic.org .

Our Food Pantry will have its semi-monthly distribution this Thursday, June 25, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, outside the CE Room.

Our Food Pantry ministry provides supplemental food for households, to help with several days of food. If you'd like more information about making use of this resource, contact Pastor Carmen.

All young adults, please join us for a Bring-Your-Own Picnic on June 29th at 6pm . (Next week's email will include the location for the picnic.) Please bring your own food, drink, face mask and blankets or chairs. We'll get to visit and even play a couple of games, if we're feeling up for it, while maintaining space between ourselves. Contact Pastor Brie for more details.

All youth, please plan to join us for a Bring-Your-Own Picnic on June 30th from 5-7pm at 339 North Locust Point Rd, Mechanicsburg.

Please bring your own food, drink, face mask and blankets or chairs. We'll get to visit and even play a couple of games while maintaining space between ourselves. Parents and families are welcome to join. Look for an email to come with more details. Contact:  pastorbrie@harrisburgbic.org.

The pastoral staff will be leading a  Sunday Morning Communion Service on Zoom... In place of our pre-recorded worship service on Sunday, July 5, beginning at 9 am, we will gather together virtually for an online Communion Service.

We hope you'll plan to join us for this special service filled with scripture readings, prayer, songs of praise, a brief meditation, and a chance to share in communion together!  (Please note: you'll need to plan ahead to provide the bread and juice for your household.)
Please pray for those who have
recently lost loved ones:

Pray for Jona Cordova and family as they grieve the recent unexpected loss of his cousin, Tania.

Each year our church participates in Capital Area Pregnancy Center's Baby Bottle Blast, which is typically held from Mother's Day to Father's Day. This year, however, it begins on Father's Day, June 21, and will go through July 26.

We won't be distributing baby bottles for you to fill this year -- instead we encourage you to fill your own container with coins, bills, or a check (payable to CAPC, with our church's name on the memo line). ...We will provide info closer to the collection date (July 26) regarding turning in your donation.

More information about Capital Area Pregnancy Center can be found here.

Since we don't have use of a bulletin board right now, we're passing along info here...

The church office received an email in the last week from Messiah College with additional job postings. You can check all of their openings on the Messiah College website ( jobs.messiah.edu).
