Mrs. Joyce E. Waite Sedasey, 98, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023.
She was born on April 28, 1925, in Belize, to the late Iris Meighan Waite and Hendicott Waite. She was the beloved wife of the late Solomon R. Sedasey, whom she married in 1951.
Joyce was a talented seamstress and fashion designer who loved to create
beautiful garments for herself and others. She moved to the United States in 1960 and lived in Brooklyn, New York, for several years before relocating to the Cayman Islands with her daughter. She eventually settled in Florida, where she enjoyed the sunshine and the company of her family and friends.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Barbara Sedasey Balderamos; her three
grandchildren, Dawn Cummings, Stephanie Steen, and Edward Balderamos; her seven great-grandchildren, Bobby, Alex, Cody, Dylan, David, Joshua, and Maximus; her three great-great-grandchildren, Liam, Aubrey, and Oliver; her four siblings, Rita, Sylvia, Lois, and Keith; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Joyce will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a kind,
generous, and loving woman who touched many lives with her grace and charm. She will always be remembered for her smile, her laughter, and her faith.
