Principals and Directors,

Each year we ask schools and ECCs for your first-day attendance numbers. Many times, these numbers are very discrepant from your annual NCEA report numbers.  These enrollment numbers are used by the School Office and Bishop Johnston’s office for a variety of purposes. In order to obtain a more accurate count, we are changing things up a bit this year. We are going to have a September 1^st enrollment collection. We will need to know your total enrollment and your enrollment by grade level (these numbers should add up 😊). Please watch for the link to a survey in the upcoming Wednesday WOW editions. Thanks in advance for your careful attention to this enrollment collection.

CONVOCATION - Update

What an inspiring day filled with God's blessings of inspiration and laughter.

The service awards for staff not present at Convocation will be mailed to your school address this week. Please ensure each staff member receives his/her years of service certificate and gift.

FACULTY FAITH FORMATION FOR 2023-2024

Fall Semester each school will work on reading The Holy See’s Teaching on Catholic Schools. A book can be purchased for $4.95 each OR you can click here for a PDF of the book.  Here is a Questions and Reflection Guide to help you as you prepare for the reading and discussion of the book. The CSO will offer suggestions on discussion questions throughout the semester to help keep you on track to complete this book the first semester.

SCHOOL SAFETY REIMBURSEMENT GRANT PROGRAM

The grant applications are now open, with separate applications for LEAs and nonpublic schools. Completed applications are due on September 8, 2023. NATIONAL EUCHARISTIC REVIVAL

What a fabulous year, last school year was, in bringing the Eucharistic Revival message to our diocesan schools with the presence of relics of Blessed Carlo Acutis and Saint Manuel Gonzales Garcia, as well as the book, “5 Steps to Being a Saint”, given to the students as a gift from Bishop Johnston!

Here are some wonderful resources for children and adults that the Catholic Schools Office may wish to share with the principals and staff of our diocesan schools, continuing this “Eucharistic Amazement” as the National Eucharistic Revival has called it, throughout this year!
