September 2022 Club Update

The Fall season is underway!

Many teams have already begun their fall season competing in the Ft. Wayne United Puma Cup and Chicago Developmental Showcase tournaments. Leauge play is also beginning soon. We look forward to having our teams out on the fields and in our community representing Jr. Irish with pride!

We have many fundraising opportunities coming up for the club. Make sure you check out the events below and mark your calendars.

Have a current high school player? Watch your inbox for an upcoming email about uniform ordering for U16+ players (birth years of 2007 and older.) You won't want to wait as we've experienced several supply chain issues this fall affecting uniform availability. Make sure you click the link and order your spring uniforms as soon as you can!

We look forward to seeing you around the fields. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us anytime!

GO IRISH!

Do you know of indoor space we could rent during the winter months?

Jr. Irish is looking to rent indoor space for approximately 15 hours a week for 12 weeks for winter training. As you know, Soccer Zone was sold and so we are working hard to find spaces that will work for indoor training. We have 30+ hours a week already secured but need your help!

If you have connections or access to a gym/warehouse with turf in the South Bend / Mishawaka / Elkhart areas please let us know! Contact Nick for more details!

Financial Aid

Thank you to everyon who has reached out to Nick Swaim, our Director of Coaching, regarding Financial Aid. If you have already submitted an application/necessary forms, we will be in touch with you soon. If you still need to apply, please scan the QR codes and get your information into our system ASAP.

If you have not officially "accepted" your offer, we are not able to consider your family for financial aid.

Now Hiring!

We need your help. We are a volunteer Board of Directors but have several paid positions in the club including coaches, facilities and more. Jr. Irish is looking to fill some of these paid positions.

  • Field Manager - this job does NOT include mowing. Job responsibilities include regular field prep like painting the lines with a robot (you just oversee it), hanging field number signs and ensuring goals are game/practice ready along with some other miscellaneous tasks.

  • Coaches Jr Irish Soccer Club is always seeking to add coaches to it's coaching staff. We need full year coaches but if you are considering, why not try it out for one season? Jr. Irish is led by a full time Director of Coaching who is responsible for providing a fully licensed coaching staff. The club offers financial assistance to the coaching staff for opportunities to upgrade their licenses and attend professional development clinics. It is the goal of Jr Irish to have a staff in place with specific expertise in a certain age group for development purposes. Players will cycle through the coaching staff over time. If you or someone you know loves the game and wants to help train our athletes, now's the time!
