Briefs:

• Tomorrow Sunday, July 20 , we will have our Jubilee neighborhood outreach after the10am Mass. Help give out used clothes, toys and food items. More importantly, share a sandwich and a prayer with our brothers and sisters in the neighborhood.

• Next Saturday, July 26: Real Love Ministries' 20th Anniversary Festival of Praise, with Fr Boniface Anusiem & music ministries.



• Saturday, Aug. 2 - Jubilee World Youth Day for Teens will be . This will be in MaryCrest convent in Monroe New York.

• Saturday, Aug. 9 @6:30 pm: Memorial Mass for Horace Victor, beloved father of Lys Vertil and Martine Victor.

Important notice: For the next 3 weeks (beginning Monday, July 21), during weekdays (Mon-Fri): NO cars will be allowed to park in the parking lot, EXCEPT in the area against the church. This is due to construction on the school building (entire roof will be replaced). Again, this applies ONLY to weekdays, Mon-Fri for the next 3 weeks.

Last Thursday, July 17, Cardinal Ernest Simoni, a renowned exorcist from the Vatican, came to St Antoninus to celebrate a deliverance Mass for the City of Newark. Before the Mass, he went on a Eucharistic procession to bless the streets of Newark. See photos & videos and more below.

Tomorrow Sunday, July 20, right after our 10am Mass.

Join a sidewalk outreach for our neighbors. We will set up tables outside where we will give out used clothing and toys. And also a table with sandwiches and drinks, both for parishioners and for our brothers & sisters in the neighborhood. The object is personal interaction, not just handout. We will have prayer tables with prayer cards & Rosaries and a corner area for people who would like to be prayed with.

Remember we are celebrating our Triple Jubilee Year. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19

The Jubilee World Youth Day is on Saturday, Aug 2 from 9:45AM-7PM. This will be in MaryCrest convent in Monroe New York. Dr Adaora is willing to chaperone the high school teens. There will be prayer, games, food and just a very exciting World Youth Day celebration in the beautiful MaryCrest grounds. Open to all High School teens. Make this Summer a fruitful and blessed DAY FOR THE LORD for your children!

Cardinal Ernest Simoni Blesses Newark with the Eucharist , Celebrates Mass with Us and Performs an Exorcism Over the Congregation

On Thursday, July 17, 2025, Cardinal Ernest Simoni, a 96 year old renowned exorcist from the Vatican, came to St Antoninus. Undoubtedly, on this 150th Jubilee year which we are celebrating, this can only be an extraordinary and unexpected gift from heaven!

Cardinal Simoni was a recent keynote speaker at an exorcism/deliverance Conference hosted by John Leaps Evangelization in a jam-packed theatre.

In the coming weeks, John Leaps Evangelization will be hosting a worldwide exorcism tour led by the Cardinal Simoni, first across the United States, and then Ireland, England and beyond- as he spreads the message of God’s love and offers freedom from the bondage of sin and the evil one.

As a matter of fact, this tour has already began!

First stop: Newark.

Thursday morning began with Cardinal Simoni blessing the streets of Newark with the Eucharist, atop an open truck, and ended back at St. Antoninus Church.

After the Eucharistic procession, Cardinal Simoni descended from the truck and came to the lower church to celebrate Holy Mass with us as the homilist.

At the conclusion of the Mass, Cardinal Simoni led a collective exorcism over the congregation, as well as salt and water. Below, watch a brief clip where the Cardinal begins by explaining the significance of exorcism before moving on to the actual sacred ritual.

John Leaps Evangelization hosted the conference, “Shielding the Children of God,” in Rutherford. The group says its goal is to “help people in the healing process, which includes identifying and treating the wounds that have negatively affected their lives,” according to its website. Other conference speakers included Father John Szada, Monsignor John Esseff, and Craig Turner.

During his talk at the conference, Cardinal Ernest Simoni Troshani of Albania — whom Pope Francis called a “living martyr” in 2024 — told the story of his life with the help of a translator.

Despite describing the horrors of Albania’s former communist regime and warning against demonic influence, Cardinal Simoni’s remarks reflected a sense of profound hope. He described meeting Pope Saint John Paul II and Saint Theresa of Calcutta when they visited Albania. 

“Albania was blessed by John Paul II when he arrived in Albania [in 1993, soon after the fall of communism],” the cardinal said. “He tried to connect with the Albanian people, and that’s the biggest blessing we had [under communism].”

Cardinal Simoni emphasized the centrality of brotherly love to the Christian faith, saying that, so long as the conference attendees live out this brotherhood and keep Christ close, they need not fear demons.

The cardinal said that too often deliverance is thought of exclusively as a mode of protection from demonic possession. Instead, he said that the faithful should realize that they are also for deliverance from conditions like illness and disease, which is why he prayed to St. Michael frequently during the COVID-19 pandemic.

After his talk, the cardinal performed an exorcism of personal items for conference attendees. He then prayed in Latin for deliverance of the whole world from all evil and demonic influence.

Cardinal Simoni’s hopeful message included a call to action. He told all attendees to begin praying the Rosary four times a day for those possessed by demons, those suffering from cancer, and women having trouble conceiving.

The cardinal emphasized that Christ’s love is all-powerful. 

“Everything we do and everything we are,” he said, “we can never forget that we belong to Jesus Christ.”
