I have been thinking about my age lately. Like many older artists I have had a myriad of doctors' visits, surgeries, falls, all of which have changed my sense of time. I feel my body is trying to tell me to slow down.

But contrary to many admonitions, slowing down is not for me. I may move more slowly, ask for help more often, and curse when I drop something before it reaches the kiln, but I intend to continue enameling until I run out of new things to create.

I also intend to teach until all the knowledge I have accumulated over the past 50+years is given into younger hands.

If you haven't done so already I urge you take an enameling class from me or any of the enameling instructors at The Crucible. This coming year I'll be introducing several new advanced classes that push boundaries about how the medium is practiced. Stay tuned!
