Dr. Natalie Arnett is a highly skilled and trained Ph.D. Chemist with over 15 years of experience in the synthesis and characterization of monomers and high-performance polymers. My interdisciplinary education focused on all areas of polymer research: synthesis, characterization, and engineering of various polymeric materials for use in fuel cells, reverse osmosis, nanoparticles, and tissue engineering applications. I have a strong educational background in the area of Macromolecular Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech. I am also knowledgeable about the development and engineering of functional polymers primarily polysulfones, polyamides, polyethers, and polyesters along with the operation/analysis of materials by various characterization techniques including but not limited to NMR, FTIR, DSC, TGA, and GPC. Natalie is the first female professor with a dual appointment at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and at the FAMU College of Science and Technology. Natalie enjoyed serving as a Senior Scholar Mentor for the Florida AGEP FAMU Research BootCamp. Dr. Arnett focused the participants' attention on balancing life expectations and aligning themselves with a central point of joy and strength.
