Bring a guest ... we look forward to seeing you!
Join us for coffee and conversation at the NKCBC's monthly coffee and networking event. It's a great opportunity to interact with your fellow NKCBC members and meet and visit with other NKC business owners and professionals, as well as elected officials and civic leaders.

This month we are moving the event to the Second Friday to allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy a long 4th of July weekend. We will be hosted by OmniLife VR. As a provider of Virtual Reality (VR) technology, OmniLife VR works with companies to provide their facility the latest VR equipment and technical support, along with thousands of VR experiences for interactive entertainment, learning, therapy and more, transforming people's lives into Magical Immersive Experiences.
After making the list in 2020, Chicken N Pickle Kansas City was one of only two businesses to be recognized once again among nine other 2021 Top 10 Small Businesses at the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce's 34th annual small business awards program. Honorees ranged from apparel to construction to restaurant technology.

"It has been an incredibly challenging year, and it’s so exciting to see these great small businesses thriving,” chamber CEO Joe Reardon said in a release. “We were so impressed and wowed by all of our candidates this year, across all industries.”

Two North Kansas City businesses that grew and thrived during a very challenging 2020 recently made the KC Business Journal's 2021 Fast 50: Kansas City's Fastest Growing Companies list. The list is based on average annual revenue growth from 2018 to 2020 and required businesses to attain revenue of $1 million or more in 2020. The final Fast 50 rankings will be revealed in the KC Business Journal's August 6th weekly edition.
Sail Away Wine Opens in Downtown North Kansas City
An exciting new wine bar experience called Sail Away Wine, recently sailed into Downtown North Kansas City at 309 Armour Road. The former bakery space has been spectacularly transformed into a comfortable hangout where guests can embark on a self-guided tour of the world of wine, with 75 different rotating wines available for smaller tastings or full pours. There are carefully curated selections of beer and spirits as well.

Mayor Bryant DeLong, several members of the City Council, and members of the North Kansas City Business Council Executive Committee were on hand to cut the ribbon and welcome Sail Away to the community.

They are now open seven day a week and invite you to set sail! For store hours and more information, visit SailAwayWine.com

Quote Notes

“My father described this tall lady who stands in the middle of the New York harbour, holding high a torch to welcome people seeking freedom in America. I instantly fell in love.”
