We would like to take a moment to say thank you. Our annual Backpack Kids fundraiser is off to an incredible start thanks to our supporters whose generosity is going to directly impact the lives of local children. Every donation is used to purchase food, school supplies, clothing and more for students in need. We're almost halfway to our goal of $50,000.

Every Wednesday and Friday from 10AM to 12PM, our dedicated volunteers and staff are outside running the food pantry drive-thru. We distribute a bag of non-perishables, fresh produce from HAPCO Farms and a choice of frozen meat. This summer, we've added a bag filled with kid-friendly meals and snacks to families who have children in local schools.

And that's not all! We also offer fresh bread, pastries, cat/dog food, baby formula and diapers upon request. In addition, these women pictured above work very hard to sort through all of the donated clothing to bring outside for our customers.

Last week, we served 94 local families, 3x the customers we saw in July 2019. We continue to see our neighbors struggle to get back on their feet. Your donation today will enable us to support those who rely on us week after week.
HOH supported Fun Fridays for the STAR Summer Program at Southampton Schools
Our Assistance Program provides a safety net for those struggling to make ends meet and works to ensure all children in our community have what they need to thrive. Here are but a few examples in July that demonstrate the impact this program makes on our community:

  • Arranged for a car repair for a low income resident to visit his wife who is suffering from kidney failure at the hospital

  • Helped a mother of four children who lost her job due to the pandemic apply for emergency rental assistance from NYS

  • Purchased a new car seat and stroller for a local family

  • Helped purchase clothing for a single father to wear to his daughter's wedding

  • Arranged medical transportation for a senior citizen

To support this service...
We had an amazing time participating in this year's Independence Day Parade! Thank you to everyone who cheered us on along the way and to our volunteers & the SES Community Service Club for walking with us! A special thank you to Fowlers Garden Center for providing the truck for our festive float that won us a second place award!

4. How does one register for the food pantry?
One can register ahead by calling our office (631-283-6415) to speak with our bilingual staff. New customers are welcome to visit during food pantry hours- Wednesdays and Fridays from 10AM-12PM. Upon arrival, they will be asked to fill out a registration form and provide valid identification. This form is used solely for reporting numbers to the food bank so we receive enough food to feed our customers.
Our mission is simple - to help people in our local community who are in need. For the past 41 years, we've been able to do so because of your incredible support. We thank you!

Warmest regards,
