Read, listen, create, and participate with the Tiverton Public Libraries this summer, and enter for chances to win great prizes!


Anyone 18 and older is eligible to participate in the adult summer library experience. Just fill out a quick review of any library materials, programs, resources, or museum passes. The more reviews you submit, the more chances to win!

Calling all photographers! Find your voice (through your photos) and join us for a summer photography club. Use your smartphone or camera to capture photographs based on our themes: Tiverton’s Most Beautiful and Love My Library. Join us for a chat/critique session on Tuesday, July 25th, at 7:00pm. Tell us what kind of camera you used and what inspired you to shoot. 


Optional: Submit your best photograph (print, no digital entries please) to Kristin Amaral by July 25th, and be entered into our summer contest. Special guest judge Jason Eckhardt will select two winners. Work to be displayed at our Share Your Voice - End of Summer Showcase. The winners also receive an extra entry into our adult summer reading program.

Movie Night: Florence Foster Jenkins

Join us for a free movie, popcorn, and drinks on the fourth Wednesday of the month. This month, we will watch Florence Foster Jenkins (2016; Rated PG-13; 1h, 51m), the story of a New York heiress who dreamed of becoming an opera singer, despite having a terrible singing voice.

Draw Like a Librarian

Join artist and Tiverton Library Assistant Jason Eckhardt for a quick course on how to draw—and love it! Jason will explain the hows and whys of seeing, framing, shading, and more. A kit, including pencil, eraser, and drawing book will be provided for each participant.


Jason has been drawing all his life. He’s been a professional illustrator for over 40 years and won Best Editorial Cartoonist of the Year 4 years running from the New England Newspaper Association. He looks forward to sharing with you the tools to have fun with drawing!

Living Literature presents Phenomenal Women, a 45-minute, two-person readers theater-style medley of poetry, prose, and history that celebrates women. For this program, we showcase some of our favorite pieces from the 19th Amendment, Mothers & Daughters, and Pearls & Politics programs, celebrating women’s voices, both past and present, who inspire us!

YA Summer Reading at the Library: Find Your Voice!

This year at the Tiverton Public Library, BINGO cards will be available for the YA summer reading program, Find Your Voice! 


Fill in five BINGO squares across, up and down, or diagonally to be entered in an end-of-summer raffle! BINGO squares can be filled in by attending library programs or fulfilling prompts at home or in your community.


When completed, you’ll be able to leave your BINGO card with your name and email in the Teen Room at the library to enter the raffle. 


The raffle is for those entering 6th grade and leaving 12th grade!

We’re accepting book donations through July 1st. Books need to be in clean and saleable condition. Please no encyclopedias, textbooks, VHS tapes, or audio cassettes.


Books may be dropped off at Union Library at 3832 Main Road during regular hours, Tuesdays 10-5 or Saturdays 10-1, or in the bin next to the book drop. Bins will also be available at Tiverton Public Library.

In conjunction with our Annual Book and Bake Sale, we will be collecting items for our Yard Sale.


Items to donate include: jewelry, glassware, games, puzzles, baskets, small household items, toys, CDs, cassettes, linens, artwork, frames, and sports equipment. No clothing, VHS tapes, large furniture, or items in poor condition can be accepted.

 

Please call 624-6364 in the afternoons to schedule a dropoff of your items.
