FOOD PANTRY

Pictured: Long Island Cares brought their Farm Truck to serve our customers

Thank goodness for your generous support and our local farms and retailers! We have been able to keep up with the increased demand for our help by receiving generous donations of fresh fruits and vegetables from HAPCO Farms, Amber Waves, Share the Harvest, Green Thumb, Long Island Cares, Island Harvest, and The Food Lab at SUNY Southampton to distribute

We are so grateful to Tate's Bakeshop, North Sea Farms, Golden Pear, Windmill Lane Bakery, Stop & Shop, and Citarella for donating bread and baked goods for us to share with our customers every week.

In the month of July, we had 1,189 visits to our pantry and welcomed 22 new families. Each person is eligible to come to the pantry once a week and receives over 9 meals' worth of food at each visit. This month, our groceries provided 36,046 meals' worth of food to our community. We continue to see our neighbors struggling to get by with the high cost of living in our area.

ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Pictured: Amélie volunteering on our 4th of July float

Local families are really struggling to make ends meet. Normally, in the summer months, our customers are working and able to save for the off-season. But we are noticing a very alarming trend this summer - people thought they would catch up on their past due balances, and maybe even save a little for the winter, but they aren't even making enough to cover the current month's expenses.

In the month of July, we spent $13,524 to help our clients try to catch up on their essential home expenses. And things are poised to get much worse. Entitlement programs are being reduced while the cost of living continues to rise. In our community, that will be added to the hardship of a seasonal economy that has many out of work for several months each winter.

We are so grateful for your support, which allows us to help neighbors most in need!

LUNCHBOX KIDS

Pictured: Students volunteering in the pantry to help us pack bags

Helping kids thrive is the best part of our work! We love to have students help us care for our neighbors and build their self-esteem through volunteering.

In the summer months, our Lunchbox Kids program provides an extra bag of kid-friendly food to help families that depend on school meals. So far this summer, we have already given 8,202 extra meals to the children we serve.

We are kicking off our Backpack Kids program with school supply drives. Please consider donating by dropping items off at 44 Meeting House Lane or making a monetary donation here.

In partnership with Supplies for Success, each child in our program will receive a free backpack and school supplies. At the end of August, we will invite all of the kids to attend our annual Back to School Bash to pick out exactly what they need.

In addition, throughout the year, we support every request from local schools to purchase or provide something that will allow a student in need to follow their passion.

MOONLIT PLUNGE

Our 4th annual Moonlit Plunge at the famed Coopers Beach was the most fun! We had over 600 people attend, and everyone had the most amazing time!

We are so grateful to John Betts and his team at Coopers Beach Shack and Shippy's Restaurant for generously feeding all of our guests!

THANK YOU to the Southampton Village Ocean Rescue (SVOR), the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance, and the Southampton Village Fire Department for volunteering their time to ensure everyone's safety.

We loved having DJ Rah-G-Raj making us want to dance all night! Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped plan everything, put up signs, check in guests, paint faces, and make the event extra special.

And thank you to Mayor Bill Manger and the Village Board of Trustees for allowing us to host our favorite event at the #1 Beach in the U.S.
