Discovery Music

This week the opening song will be The Heart of Worship, a sincere, Jesus-centered worship, stripped of distraction and performance. This song was written in a season when Matt Redman's church intentionally removed all instruments and sound equipment because worship had become too focused on production, rather than the heart. The congregation rediscovered worship as a simple, honest offering to God.

The closing song for the service will be a song that tells us Jesus is exalted above everything! Above All proclaims that the One who is exalted chose to be humbled, rejected, and crucified -out of love for you!

Community Giving

Every Communion Sunday, our Mission Team places a small collection basket in the

front of the Sanctuary--

a simple reminder that our shared table extends far beyond our walls. This supports our community needs right here in Lynchburg.

Your generosity makes a quiet

but a powerful difference. As you come forward for communion, you are invited to place a gift in the plate, as you are able. Every dollar is used directly for local care, and every gift is a blessing. Thank you for being a church that not only gathers at Christ's table, but

carries grace outward.

School Supplies for Heritage High School

Can you believe it! We’re already looking forward to the start of the next

school year! Heritage UMC will be collecting the following school supplies

 from July 12 to August 12 as part of our collaboration with Partners in Education for Heritage High School. The highlighted items in the list are the most critical needs for students.

Welcome Center on Sunday Mornings!

We are seeking volunteers to help with our Sunday morning hospitality. On Sunday mornings, snacks, coffee, and water are available in the Welcome Center before each service. Pre-packaged snacks are readily available and should be supplemented with fresh items you can easily pick up at your local grocery store. Folks who sign up need to have the Welcome Center ready at 8:45 and clean up after the worship service. More volunteers are needed to buy and put out the snacks on Sunday mornings, make the coffee, and clean up after the worship service (typically takes 15 minutes). More specific directions will be posted in the hospitality kitchen off the narthex. If you can help with hospitality this way, please click the link below.
