Past and Ongoing Events

Blue Whale Gala at the Aquarium

On June 27th, I represented the Fourth District at the Blue Whale Gala and Summer Splash. The Aquarium of the Pacific's annual fundraising event raised over $900,000 from 950 guests. I’m the guest pointed out with a blue arrow in the attached photo. Highlights from the evening included remarks from actress and animal advocate, Joely Fisher, and Aquarium President and CEO, Jeff Flocken. I got a preview of the new Jelly Dreamscapes gallery that we'll see at our upcoming CD4 Aquarium Night. Special thanks to my table host, Marlene Temple. Read more about the Aquarium of the Pacific here.

Soccer in the LBC at Eldo Park West

A large crowd gathered at El Dorado Park West on July 6th for the kickoff event of “Matches in the Park”. Featured on the big screen was the USA versus Belgium match. SCE Power Outage Preparedness

Our office met with Southern California Edison's Government Affairs team. We discussed our commitment to providing residents timely information on planned, weather-related, and repair power outages. Their #1 advice to prepare for power outages is to have your most up to date contact information on file and to sign up for SCE alerts. Visit their outage preparedness website here. You can also sign up for text alerts here.

Assistance League LB Operation School Bell

Since 1966, Operation School Bell (OSB), a signature program of Assistance League of Los Angeles, has supported thousands of students in pre-K through 5th grade by providing clothes, shoes, backpacks and other essentials. Their assistance helps every child gain confidence, joy and a renewed sense of hope for the future. When kids have what they need to show up every day, they're more likely to stay in school, learn to read, and build a brighter future.

This year, the Assistance League of Los Angeles is piloting an OSB emergency closet program for middle school and high school students. Make a difference and support Operation School Bell in Long Beach's Assistance League chapter by emailing OSB@assistanceleaguela.org or by using this link.
