The First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 1:22-2:5

For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

For consider your call, brethren; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth; but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame to strong, God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. He is source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption; therefore, as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord.”

When I came to you, brethren, I did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God in lofty words or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in much fear and trembling; and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

Եւ թէպէտ Հրեաներ հրաշք կ’ուզեն, իսկ Յոյներ իմաստութիւն կը փնտռեն, մենք խաչուած Քրիստոսը կը քարոզենք, որ գայթակղութիւն է Հրեաներուն համար եւ յիմարութիւն՝ հե­թանոսներուն համար, թէպէտ նոյն այդ Հրեաներէն ու Յոյներէն կանչուած­ներուն եւ դարձի եկածներուն համար՝ անիկա Քրիստոսն է, Աստուծոյ զօրութիւնը եւ Աստուծոյ իմաստութիւնը:

Արդարեւ, Աստուծոյ տնօրինու­թիւնը, որ Յոյներ յիմարութիւն կ’որակեն, իմաստնագոյն է քան մարդկային ոեւէ իմաստութիւն. եւ Աստուծոյ խաչը, որ Հրեաներ տկարութիւն կը համարեն, աւելի զօրեղ է քան մարդկային ամէն զօրութիւն:

Եղբայրնե՛ր, դուք ձեզմէ դատեցէք. ի՛նչ էիք երբ Աստուած ձեզ կանչեց: Ձեզմէ քանի՞ն իմաստուն, հզօր կամ ազնուատոհմ էին մարդկային չափանիշներով: Բայց Աստուած ընտրեց այն՝ ինչ որ այս աշխարհը յիմար կը սեպէ, անով իմաստունները ամօթով ձգելու համար. ընտրեց այն՝ ինչ որ այս աշխարհը տկար կը համարէ, անով հզօրները ամչցնելու համար. եւ ընտրեց այն՝ ինչ որ այս աշխարհը անարժէք, արհամարհելի եւ ոչնչութիւն կը նկատէ, անով ոչնչացնելու համար այս աշխարհի մեծութիւնները: Եւ ասիկա՝ որպէսզի ոեւէ մարդ չպարծենայ Աստուծոյ առջեւ, որովհետեւ Աստուած ի՛նքն էր որ ձեզ բերաւ Քրիստոսի միացուց, եւ մենք Քրիստոսով ճանչցանք Աստուծոյ իմաստութիւնը եւ գտանք մեր արդարութիւնը, սրբու­թիւնը եւ փրկութիւնը, որպէսզի, ինչպէս մարգարէութեան մէջ գրուած է. «Ով որ կը պարծենայ՝ թող Տիրոջմով պարծենայ»:

Ես ալ, եղբայրնե՛ր, երբ ձեզի եկայ՝ իմաստասիրական մեծ-մեծ խօսքերով չէր որ ձեզի պատմեցի Աստուծոյ փրկութեան ծրագիրին մասին, որովհետեւ միակ նպատակ դրած էի՝ ձեզի ճանչցնել Յիսուսը՝ Քրիստոսը, այսինքն նոյնինքն խաչուած Փրկիչը: Եւ ձեր քով եկած ատենս ալ տկար էի, սաստիկ վախ ու դողի մէջ, եւ իմաստութեան ճարտար խօսքերով չէր որ խօսեցայ կամ քարոզեցի, այլ՝ Սուրբ Հոգիին զօրութեամբ եւ ներգործու­թեամբ, որպէսզի ձեր հաւատքը հիմնուի Աստուծոյ զօրութեան վրայ, եւ ո՛չ թէ մարդկային իմաստութեան:

The Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to

Matthew 18:10-14

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of My Father in heaven.”   “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.”

Յիսուս Քրիստոսի Աւետարանէն Որ Ըստ Մատթէոսի

18:10-14

Զգո՜յշ, մի՛ արհամարհէք այս փոքրիկներէն մէկը. գիտցէք, որ անոնց հրեշտակները երկինքի մէջ միշտ կը տեսնեն իմ երկնաւոր Հայրս: Որովհետեւ Մարդու Որդին եկաւ կորսուածը փրկելու համար:

Ի՞նչ կը կարծէք. եթէ մարդ մը իր հարիւր ոչխարներէն մէկը կորսնցնէ, չի՞ ձգեր ինըսունինը ոչխարները լեռան վրայ եւ չ’ե՞րթար փնտռելու կորսուած ոչխարը: Եւ եթէ պատահի որ գտնէ, վստահ եղէք որ աւելի՛ կ’ուրախանայ այդ ոչխարին համար, քան թէ ինըսունինը ոչխարներուն համար, որոնք կորսուած չեն: Նմանապէս ալ Հայրս, որ երկինքի մէջ է, չ’ուզեր որ այս փոքրիկներէն մէկը կորսուի:
