This Week at Chapel of Our Saviour

Vestry Spotlight: Mary Johnson

Mary Johnson has lived in Colorado her whole life. She moved to Colorado Springs in mid 2019 with her husband, Micah, and her young son, Elijah.

Mary and her family have now set down their roots here in the Springs and added Etta to their family in 2021.

When she's not busy caring for her two adorable young children, Mary works as a high school counselor in the community.

While Mary was raised Catholic, Micah was raised in a Presbyterian church. Together, they have attended many churches in their search for a spiritual home where they also can raise their precious family. What a blessing to us all that they have found that home in Chapel of Our Saviour.

Mary says, “I am honored and humbled to be serving on the vestry of this phenomenal community. I hope to continue to add to the already warm and welcoming spirit that is Chapel.”

Thank you so much, Mary, for your service, leadership, and time! We are so happy to have you, Micah, Eli, and Etta in our church family.

share your D2 shopping tips

Chapel of Our Saviour will have a monthly food drive to bolster our contributions to the Pantry! We will start in July!

D2 Pantry always needs more food to meet the growing needs of families. Please add them to your weekly grocery list!

Every week, Chapel of Our Saviour collects food to support the D2 food pantry located at Stratmoor Hills Elementary. This weekly ministry is a part of our longtime and ongoing partnership with Westside CARES, our local homeless advocacy organization. We invite you to bring food on Sundays from the list below.

You can put the food in the colorful baskets in the narthex when you come for Sunday services. Our children then bring those baskets to the altar as we present our offerings to God. If you prefer, you can drop off food donations to the Allen House foyer Monday through Thursday, 9:00 - 1:00. Coordinate deliveries with DeSha in the church office before you bring it over. and call the office at 719-633-2667 when you arrive.

Godly Play

Children’s Ministry every Sunday, 9:50a

Our children gather in the Loft upstairs from the narthex (church lobby) or in the courtyard (weather-permitting) for a time of exploration and wonder called “Godly Play.” Parents and guardians are invited to sign in upstairs and children rejoin their families during the Offertory.

If your children haven’t joined us yet, they are most welcome, and we look forward to meeting and getting to know them.
