Last week, members of Lord of Life received long anticipated good news from Council President Ed Hourihan.  He announced to the congregation that the Call Committee recommended to Council that Rev. Wendolyn Trozzo be considered to become Lord of Life's next Pastor.  The Church Council interviewed the candidate and unanimously voted in favor of advancing the candidate.
The next step in the Call Process is to plan a congregational meeting.  Watch for more information in the near future.
The link below is to Pastor Trozzo's resume':

Discussions To Reopen The Lord Of Life Campus
The Latest Update:

The Lord of Life Task Force would like to thank everyone who completed the survey that was distributed to the congregation.  The members of the task force reviewed the results and decided to break into 2 subgroups to address the congregations concerns: (1) worship and (2) building/grounds.  Presently, each group is finishing their work and preparing a report of recommendations that would address each topic.  Once Council has reviewed them, they will be shared with the congregation.
Please know that the health and safety of everyone is of the utmost priority to all those participating in the groups.  If anyone has any suggestions, questions, or concerns, please feel free to e-mail Church Council member Sandy O'Neal (Worship) or Rick Krause (Parish Director of Worship and Music).  Our hope is to complete our work and present it to Church Council by the end of July.

Let's Get To Know:
Breanne Tomlinson

In September 2019, Lord of Life welcomed a new staff member, Breanne Tomlinson, to lead our Junior and Senior High School programs. We have seen Breanne participate in our recorded on-line Sunday church services in several ways, including delivering sermons when a pastor was not available. The editors asked Breanne to write an article for the LifeLines so that all of us can get to know her better. And now, heeeeeere's Breanne!
++++++
I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you in the months leading up to our Covid quarantine, but given the unchartered waters we find ourselves in, I wanted to introduce myself to all of you. I have just recently taken over the position of  Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry after Donna retired. I am so grateful and blessed to take this journey with all of you, even if we're not entirely sure what this will look like in the upcoming months.
Before beginning this ministry with Lord of Life, I spent a number of years practicing a variety of different types of ministries in all different types of churches. I received my Consecrated Diaconal Minister degree from the ELCA Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, which allows me to perform most pastoral tasks, but not consecrate the communion elements.  The religious training has given me the opportunity to explore bilingual congregations, life development, and youth, children, and adult ministries in different churches throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.   I discovered a love for mission development, and soon took mission development certification to add to my ministry profile. When I put my ministry job on hold to raise my three sons (Max, Alex, and Zachary) and my daughter (Jesica), I started to supply preach and write curriculum for the local church we were attending. This allowed me to feel spiritually fulfilled while getting to enjoy motherhood.
I am so very blessed to be on this journey with this congregation. It is definitely a time of uncertainty but that means that we get an opportunity to follow God's mission in a new direction. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as I have been navigating this new position. I look forward to seeing all of you again when we resume in-person meetings again.

In February of 2020, our Lord Of Life People Enjoying People (PEP) group was given a presentation from Newborns In Need Of Burlington County.  This talk inspired PEP participants and others in the congregation to donate needed items to this charity.  Recently, our church received a note of thanks for our support.  Here is the letter for all to read:

Dear Members,

Thank you for your generous donation to Newborns In Need!  We greatly appreciate your donation of 18 Toiletries & Accessories and 49 New Clothing items.  These items will be given to our members to make baby items.  Our chapter, here in Burlington County, began in April of 2011.  We rely solely on donations to provide gift bags of essentials to new moms in need throughout the South Jersey area.  We deliver these bags to area hospitals and clinics that know of new moms that are in need and can benefit from the items provided. It is people like you that allow us to continue support to those less fortunate.
Very truly yours,
Linda G. Meyers

Roof And Air Conditioning

There is good news to report regarding two major repair and renovation projects have been recently completed at our church.  A new air conditioning system has been installed for the Fellowship Hall side of the building, and most of the roof on the original church building has been replaced.
The roof under the solar panels was replaced prior to their installation, but the roof over the entrance way, Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, and hallways were still original.  It was time to complete the task.
As for the air conditioning, there has been one issue after another so we are very pleased to see a new system in place!

News From Our Adult Ministry Leader, Janell Reich:

Last Thursday, July 9th, we had a "trial-run" small group activity.  Seven of us met in a shady spot in the parking lot for Bible Bingo.  It worked well observing distancing and enjoying non-contact fellowship. Hence, plans are in the work for:

Game Day  - Interested in a small group,  game time for adults?  We can play Bingo or some other non-contact game.  It will be held 9:30 AM at a shady spot in the church parking lot.  Contact Janell Reich for more information.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bible) - A weekly, small group Bible study is being planned.  It will be held in the church parking lot at 9:30 AM.  The meeting day is weather dependent.  If interested, contact Janell Reich for more information.

Book Club  -  Our Book Club will meet one morning at the end of July to discuss whatever each one of us has been reading.  Please contact Janell Reich for more information.

A Request For Help:
Keeping Our Building And Grounds In Tip-Top Shape

We are in need for some volunteers to do some work around church grounds.  Dennis Yates our Property Manager is keeping up with as much as one person can, but there are so many tasks that additional help is needed.  He cannot do everything alone.  The immediate tasks are:

         - Cleaning Gutters
         - Pulling Weeds (And their roots!)
         - Painting interior of fire exit doors
         - Putting liners down in flower beds
         - Pulling weeds (And their roots!) in the playground

If you cannot do the physical work, please consider helping with a monetary contribution to buy needed mulch.

Call or email Dennis to volunteer.  Any help given will greatly be appreciated!

Quilt Backings Needed!!!!
Lord Of Life Quilt Ministry

The Quilting Ministry members are gearing up for another major round of quilt making.  We have received a donation from Thrivent to purchase batting, however, there is a need for backing material.  We normally use bedsheets that are either donated or purchased for this purpose.
If anyone would like to donate new or used sheets in good condition, it would be greatly appreciated.  We have placed a labeled container at the entrance to the FDC/Grace Place next to the containers for the Christian Caring Center and Bridge of Peace in which  you can place the sheets.  Thank you for your help with our Ministry!

Collection for the Christian Caring Center

The collection at the entrance way to the FDC/Grace Place of our church building is continuing.  Look for the blue container and carefully place the items into it.
The third delivery of the donations took place on June 24th and another is pending.  As always, your gifts were sincerely appreciated and welcomed. Thank you so much!  Thank you for your support!
You can also help the Christian Caring Center by donating through their website or mailing a check to them.  The link for donating and their address are below.

Support The Bridge Of Peace Food Pantry And
A Special Appeal From Pastor Giselle
Our collection of food and other items is continuing, and a delivery was made recently.  Last week, we received thanks from Pastor Giselle for our generosity.  She also made a special appeal for  toiletry items such as the small bar soap, small shampoos, tooth brushes, tooth paste, wipes, disposable razors, etc. They have seen a marked increase in providing for the homeless during COVID-19 pandemic, and these items are in great need.
A black container to deposit your donations has been placed by the entry way to the FDC/Grace Place Building at the church campus.  It is near to the one for the Christian Caring Center and is labeled for Bridge of Peace.  All food should be non-perishable and will not need refrigeration prior to opening.
A list of other needed items can be found in the previous LifeLines issue.  A link is provided here:

Thank you to all for your generosity!

Grace Place Preschool Registrations

Although the Grace Place Preschool is not in session due to COVID-19, we are still accepting registrations for the 2020-21 school year. Please email Deborah DeMarco at
director@graceplacenj.com for a registration form. At this time, we will not be hosting any tours. An email link is below.  Thank you!

A Message from Breanne Tomlinson,
VBS Director

After much prayerful discussion, a decision has been made to have no Vacation Bible School this summer.  There were remaining questions concerning safety and logistics which contributed to making this decision.  We greatly appreciate your understanding and support regarding the cancellation.

Teller Positions Are Available

Lord of Life is in need of Tellers. Typically a teller works in a team of 3-4 people, and teams rotate so that each team does one weekend a month.  No experience is necessary, and training  will be  provided.

For more information or to join the team, please contact  Carol Ebersberger, Lord of Life Church Financial Secretary, by emailing her.  A link to her email is below.

Continuing Your Contributions

Your continuing financial support is essential to maintain the Ministries of Lord Of Life. Your envelopes can be mailed to the church (1 Winchester Court, Tabernacle, NJ 08088) and Simply Giving remains in place.
Offerings can also be made via a secure website and cell phone app. More information about these ways to contribute can be found on the church's website.  The link is below.
Despite our building being closed, the work of the church is going on. Our Vice Pastor and the staff are actively engaged, and the need to pay bills and the mortgage continue. Prayerfully consider continuing with your regular contributions.

Stewardship Team News

The Stewardship Team will soon begin to plan for our fall season mailings and church services talks. Becoming part of the team can bring in ideas that will be most beneficial. Besides those functions, the team assists in the distribution of church envelopes (once a year) and mailing/distribution of contribution statements (three times a year). If you would like to be a part of our group, please contact the team leader, Jim Cuviello by email. A link is provided below.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.

An Inspriational Ending:

The song to end this issue was composed by a member of the "St. Louis Jesuits", a group of five Catholic Jesuit composers who worked together on their music at St. Louis University in the 1970's.  There are three hymns in our LBW hymnal composed by members of this group:  LBW #496, "One Bread, One Body", #787, "On Eagle's Wings", and, finally, #574, "Here I Am, Lord", which was written by the first singer in our song for this issue.  Enjoy!
