Can you believe it’s almost back to school time? Blessing of the Backpacks will take place at the 10:00 service on Sunday, July 20. Children are encouraged to bring their backpacks to church and during the Children’s Time we will share a blessing over these backpacks and the children as they prepare for a new school year.

Do you love to sing? If you’ve ever wanted to sing with the Dayspring Choir, summer is the perfect time to jump in. Our Summer Choir sings at the 10:00am service on the first and third Sundays of the month—with no weekday rehearsals! Just come at 9:20am on the morning of the service to learn the song and warm up. It is monsoon season in Arizona. Known as the second spring, it is a great time to plant a second round of warm-season crops. Or prepare for a cool-season garden in a few months. The monsoon season is the traditional garden season of the indigenous O'odham people of central and southern Arizona, and we have much to learn from their arid-adapted crops and cycles. We will discuss the opportunities and challenges of the monsoon season and what your options are for this time of year. 

Imagine the scene: Silence… The lights of Fellowship Hall are dimmed… Candlelight surrounds you… Chanting words over and over again until the words fill your soul… Time to Meditate… Silence… Time for you… Time for you and God… This is a Taizé prayer service. Join us at 4pm next Sunday, July 27, in the Fellowship Hall. 

Save the date! Our 28th Labor Day All-Church Campout is scheduled for August 29-September 1. We will head back to Hoyer Campground in beautiful (and cool) Greer, Arizona! Thankfully, our campground has escaped the worst of the Greer fire. Please email Carol to preregister or ask questions.

Please bring in water bottles, electrolyte drinks, and nutritional snacks to support Tempe Cooling Centers this 2025 summer. We're also collecting hygiene products, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, socks, board games and books.
