July 18, 2017

Madison County Fair week is very special to our family for a number of reasons.  Our daughters have made cherished memories, learned valuable lessons about hard work and goal setting (and sometimes disappointment), made wonderful friends, and celebrated summer in the best way possible.

My hats off to the entire Madison County Fair Board who volunteer countless hours to create a magical week for Madison County families.  *THANK YOU* to the crew at the Madison County Extension & Outreach office, 4H volunteers, project area supervisors, judges, and to everyone who works hard during county fair week!

An oldie but a goodie, one Riley girl with her friends make summer memories at the Madison County Fair!

If you have information or announcements that you'd like to be featured in "Chamber Chat", be sure to pass it my way!  Send me an email and indicate the week you would like your announcement to be made!

Thank you for your support of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce!

Heather Riley
Executive Director

The 48th Annual Madison County Covered Bridge Festival

Before you know it, the leaves will be turning and we'll be opening our doors to thousands of visitors for the 48th Annual Madison County Covered Bridge Festival!

Take a sneak peek at the promotional poster for the 2018 Festival!  The theme for this year's celebration is "Cinematic Madison County", and will feature special guest Sarah Zahn (formerly Schmitt), Winterset native and accomplished singer and actor.  Sarah's love for the performing arts was sparked in Winterset, both through Winterset schools' music and speech programs and her role as Meryl Streep's daughter, young Carolyn, in the film version of The Bridges of Madison County.

Thank you to Carol Bassett of Luminosity Design for your creativity and hard work on the 2017 poster!

So, mark your calendars and get excited for the 2017 Madison County Covered Bridge Festival, October 14-15!

Retirement Income Planning Seminar Hosted by Dawney Financial
Retirement income planning is the process of understanding how much income you'll need during your retirement years to support the retirement lifestyle you want, and positioning your assets to provide that income. While there's no such thing as a "one size fits all" plan, there are steps you can take to maximize the possibility of a financially secure retirement.

Join Sarah Dory of Dawney Financial, Inc. on Tuesday, August 1 for a Retirement Income Planning Seminar, "Will You Have Enough Income in Retirement?" from 6:00-7:00 pm.  The event will be held in the Upstairs at the Heartland Building at 112 N. 1st Ave. in Winterset.
