Senate Bill 2825/A4325


Senate Bill 2825/A4325 introduced by Senator Vitale was passed in the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee on June 23rd. It is a comprehensive package to address nurses and nursing workforce issues and ultimately support the care of NJ residents.

Home Health Aide Data & Analysis 2022

Home Health Aide Data Report


The 2022 Home Health Aide Data and Analysis Report is the first report in NJ to collect data on home health aides.


NJCCN has been analyzing data on Home Health Aides in New Jersey.


From 2017 to 2022, there was a 16.5% reduction in the Home Health Aide workforce.

New Jersey Future of Nursing 2020-2030

THOUGHT LEADERS CONVENE TO STRATEGIZE FUTURE PLANS


Dr. Nina Vaid Raoji facilitated an in-person ‘think tank’ on June 29th, 2022 to collaborate and strategize the next steps of the Future of Nursing Recommendations for New Jersey.


With a focus on breaking nursing silos, multi-sector industries were invited to explore opportunities to move the initiatives forward.


Amazon Health Policy Team, J&J, NJ BIA, CVS Health, Home Care Industry, to name a few, were present with resources and recommendations and will continue to work with NJAC work groups as we move forward.

Nurse Residency Clinical Coordinator Conference


NJCCN hosted its first Clinical Coordinator meeting on June 22, 2022.


Erica Fischer-Cartlidge DNP,

CNS, AOCNS®, EBP-C of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center presented on  "Building a Critical Mass of Mentors for the Future Workforce".


Also, there was a panel from Englewood Hospital & Medical Center. Jill Cox, PhD, RN, APN-c CWOCN, FAAN; Brittany Berliner, MSN, RN,CMSRN; and Maria Toubroukji, MSN, RN,

GERO-BC presented on "Defining EBP Projects for Nurse Residents" One Hospital's Experience".

Virtual Schwartz Rounds

What are Virtual Schwartz Rounds? VSR are remote convenings that take place online using Zoom. They provide a forum for connecting with nursing colleagues facing challenging experiences while trying to care for themselves and others. They are opportunities to connect with one another about difficult or uplifting experiences, to offer and to receive support, and to decrease a sense of isolation.

We are excited that NJ Nursing Emotional Well-being Institute (NJ-NEW) will be offering Stress First Aid (SFA) Train the Trainer in August 2022 via zoom.

Nurse Residency Program

There are now 21 hospitals participating in the Nurse Residency Collaborative. As of June 2022, NJCCN has registered over 1000 residents. The Collaborative aims to increase the use of standardized, high-quality nurse residency programs across the state through the implementation of the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program. Visit the website for more information.
