"What if the valuation date is the Fourth of July? "
If the valuation date falls on the July 4 holiday a correct valuation, in compliance with the IRS Form 706/709 regulations, will result in a straight average between Wednesday and Friday because Thursday is not a trading day. [IRS Regulation 20.2031-2(b)1]
