itSMF International Chapter Leadership Conference held in Madrid

The itSMF International CLC involved itSMF Chapters from around the world meeting under the same roof for a weekend in June at the location of Madrid in Spain.

There were 21 Chapters (out of a total of 58) represented to discuss the international strategies. Whilst the itSMF International Board of Directors lead the 2 day workshop, it is the Chapters who provide the direction and together make the decisions that guide the direction for itSMF to take on the global stage.

You and the itSMF Singapore Chapter was proudly represented by council member Elina Pirjanti (yellow dress, far left in front), she recognizes the value provided for the Singapore chapter to be active both inside our own country and also on the international stage. All itSMF chapters work very similarly, based on active members, and we can be proud of itSMF Singapore and our success at past events. Networking, communities and sharing are keys to success, we look forward to seeing you in our future events.

Personal Data Protection Act  - Event held June 26
th 2014

There were 72 people attending the PDPA Event held recently in June that were treated to an engaging and highly informative talk about the larger 2nd part of the Act that came into effect on July 1st 2014.

The speaker, Mr Paul Southern, kept the mood light  and the pace fast as he provided an overview of the PDPA and the requirements it places on businesses, how it came about into being, how it affects Singapore in general and you in particular.

Feedback from the event was very positive on the topic, the venue and also the spread of food provided during the Networking time.

Make sure you are available for the next event being scheduled for August, details to follow soon.
