President's Message                                  Next Meeting is Friday July 8th
   
Greetings to all of you from Cowtown, Alberta...my annual trip to volunteer at the Calgary Stampede.  Nancy and I will be back for the not-to-be missed PROBUS annual Picnic on July 20th however.

We'll each pack our own picnic and meet at 9:30 am at Nanoose Place

Did you miss Paul Kololdziej's talk on June 3 about his work at NASA?  
 
 
At our meeting, Paul Kolodziej spoke about supporting the STS-132 mission of the NASA Space Shuttle Atlantis, explaining the behind the scenes processes and technology, a brief history of the Shuttle program and amazing images and video from that mission.

 Digital Scavenger Hunt and Lunch:  June 10   
On a cool-ish, cloudy Friday morning,  15 eager participants
 from the Northwest Bay PROBUS club met with hunt organizers,

 they were given their walking papers.

And the hunt was on...
Nanoose Bay Probus hosts Robert Bateman as guest speaker
More than 170 people gathered at Nanoose Place on June 17th to hear a talk by famed artist and naturalist Robert Bateman.  Almost 50 members of Northwest Bay PROBUS Club accepted our sister club's kind invitation to join them for the lecture.  Robert spoke of his passions - nature, art and the environment.  He has spent his lifetime looking keenly at nature, geography and culture and has great concern that our beautiful planet is a risk.
