The Key to Solid Power of Attorney Documents
Brad has presented several programs to the Society of Certified Senior Advisors which are broadcasted nationwide. They requested an in depth presentation on power of attorney documents as they have become more highly scrutinized recently and for good reason. A medical power of attorney document gives an individual's power to make medical decisions and to receive medical information to an agent. Financial power of attorney documents work similarly as an agent can receive an individual's financial information, make financial decisions, payments , move funds from account to account in addition to handling many other financial decisions. Obviously you would choose these agents with care and thoughtfulness as they must be highly trusted. Please listen to the webinar by clicking on this link to learn the most recent facts about power of attorney documents. These should be included in all estate plans to cover spouse's, adult children, young adults, family and friends. Do not be caught with a loved one being unable to make important medical and or financial decisions with no authorized individual to step in. If that situation arises we can file a request with the court to obtain this power but it is then a guardianship or conservatorship and is time consuming and costly for the person seeking it.
Brad also did a presentation at the Society of Certified Senior Advisors regarding What is Elder Law and Special Needs Law and Finding a Qualified Elder Law/Special Needs Attorney. To see this presentation, please click here.
