Teen Lunch Club is a Lunch Club for Evergreen High School students. They gather on Wednesdays at The Ascent Church Base Camp and have table fellowship and a home cooked lunch, prepared and served by faithful volunteers. TLC is student led, and teens are the weekly speakers giving a personal message about "trusting in Christ."

Council Message
Message from Council President

"Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me" Mark 9:37

DRUMROLL PLEASE.... I am pleased to announce that on Sunday June 25th at a special congregational meeting, an overwhelming majority vote approved entering into a lease agreement with Evergreen Academy Christian Preschool! We are very excited to have young families in our beautiful church every day and look forward to the opportunity to welcome the preschool community into our church family! Thank you all for your wisdom and discernment during the deliberation process as well your participation in the vote.

I also want to thank WOW for hosting the ice cream social and the Legendary Ladies performance. It was a special event and fun to learn about the lives of those special Ladies!

Can anyone say HeeHaw??? The Rodeo Parade float was a huge success and great exposure for our wonderful band. While we didn't win the actual contest, we won in the eyes of God as Patrick, Todd, Elinore, Rory and Mark Selman played praise music on a moving flatbed! It was awesome to see the crowd come alive as our float passed by on the parade route. Also the free lemonade and hot dogs at the end of the route brought many people to our front doors who were very appreciative and grateful for the kindness of our congregation members serving. While Ken Touryan was not successful at baptizing anyone, he brought many smiles to those looking for a cold glass of lemonade!  Special thanks to Brian Holt, Mark Neely, and Hanna Holt for providing and pulling the flatbed, as well Marcee and Art Martin for coordinating all of the volunteers that helped make the day a fun experience for all! Thank you to all for your time and welcoming spirit!

We have many events in July,  most importantly the return of Pastor Philip and the Reimers family! Join us for outdoor worship, Holy Hitters softball games, Christian Day Camp, and the Youth Mission Trip. These are all fun opportunities for fellowship and for the Light to shine through you.

Safe travels to those on vacation and have a fun, safe 4th of July!

Blessings,
Nonie

Pastor's Sabbatical
Pastor Philip is on sabbatical through July 17. Sabbaticals are a part of Pastor's contract and LCC's policy.  John Bergen is providing the primary leadership and many others are supporting by providing sermons, leading worship, and other areas. .

The theme of the sabbatical is Beaks, Peaks, and the Holy Spirit Speaks.  The sabbatical includes 2 months in the US and one month in Africa.  During this time Pastor will be spending time in God's creation bird watching, climbing peaks, and spending time in God's Word to be refreshed and inspired to a renewed passion for ministry.

Please continue to pray for Pastor as the renewal takes place.

Pictures of his experiences can be found on our LCC Facebook page and on

Prayer Walk
The prayer walk is still in process. The sign placements have been made and will be installed soon. Men of the church working on completing this project are
Paul Mohrmman, Art Martin, Orville Strain and Bob Inman.

Volunteers and staff at Lutheran Church of the Cross:

When I took my three young girls to the rodeo Parade yesterday, I couldn't have predicted that the best part of the day would be visiting your church. While we are of the Catholic tradition, it felt as though we were a part of your church. You were incredibly welcoming, grounded, and kind. If I were to choose a church based on community alone - it would be yours.  And religion aside, I am grateful to have all of you in our Evergreen community.

Thank you,

Meg
Soul Hikers: Our moderate hikers have hit the trails. On most Wednesday mornings you will find us surrounded by the beautiful nature that Colorado has to offer. We usually hike 4-5 miles at a steady pace. Since we're hiking in the mountains, the hike contains a few hundred feet of elevation. Beginner hikers, or hikers with limitations, can contact the hike coordinator if you'd like to arrange a more casual hike with a slower pace and plenty of stops. The hiking coordinator is Jill Hansen - [email protected]  Happy Trails.

Delightful Visit!
What a delightful surprise visit Sondra Inman experienced while substituting for Stephanie in the office on May 23, 2017! Pastor JOHN ADIX, who was our second pastor here at LCC (from 1966-1977), stopped with his wife, Mary, and oldest son, David. Pastor Adix is retired from his latest call which was in administration at PACIFIC LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY in Tacoma, Washington. He now lives in Maple Grove, MN; near his youngest son, John Mark. Son, David, lives in Tucson, son,Tom,  lives in Denver and son, Christopher, lives in Scottsdale, AZ. They were amazed at the beauty of our church since they have not been back to visit in many years. Pastor Adix's office in those years was situated where our nursery is now located! Bob & Sondra Inman knew Pastor Adix only briefly because they joined LCC in 1976, just a few months before he left to accept his call in WA. He was delighted to meet our current president, Nonie, when she also stopped in! Look for photos of him and his family on our entrance screen!
