July 2018 LPGA Amateur Golf Association DC E-Blast
President's Message

Dear LPGA AGA DC Members,

Hope everyone is having a great summer and is able to play a ton of golf.

We had a great Cha-Cha outing earlier in the month. Thank you everyone for participating, what a great day it was. Musket Ridge is a beautiful course and weather couldn't have been any better. A very, very special thank you to Anu who organized it all and executed to perfection, and another big thank you to all the volunteers that helped this event be so much fun. Good luck to all the stroke players and scramble teams in Delaware next month.

Also good luck to our DC team who is facing off Baltimore gals in the Battle of the Beltways (go DC!!!)

Please check out our website and events. The summer is still far from over and we have a good number of weekend events scheduled. Hero Dogs charity tournament is  August 6 , so get your foursome together to support training of these amazing dogs. And if you haven't formed a team for Play for P.I.N.K. tournament that is coming up, please do so. We are trying to raise as much money as possible for this amazing cause.

See you all on the course! Hit them long and straight.

Sincerely,

Snjezana Arthur
President

2018 Play for P.I.N.K.  Golf Tournament
4 Weeks Left - Register Now!!!

Our annual Play for P.I.N.K. (PfP) Tournament will be held at the Westfields Golf Course in Clifton, Virginia on August 26, 2018.  Proceeds raised by our Chapter will be sent to the PfP organization that in turn donates all to the Breast Cancer Research Fund.  The tournament is open to ALL (males and non-members welcome).  Given many of us have been touched by breast cancer in some fashion, join us for a day filled of fun while simultaneously donating to this noteworthy cause.

The price is $120 per person and includes greens and cart fees, practice balls, on-course towel service, golf bag handling, clubs cleaned post-round, and post-round Black Tee Buffet dinner.  We will play a Shamble format (team's best low gross and net score per hole is recorded) with a shotgun start at 1:30pm.  Dinner and tournament prizes will be held after the course of play.  Form your own foursome or sign up as a single and be paired with a foursome.  A team captain is preferred, as information will be communicated through all Captains.  Be creative with your team name, and remember to DRESS IN PINK!

A number of fun activities are planned for the day!!!  We will have a chipping and putting contest with first and second place prizes awarded; various skill challenges with prizes (longest drive (M/F), closest to the pin (M/F); a 50/50 cash raffle; a regular basket raffle (assortment of items); and a silent auction.  Silent auction items include:  a variety of women's golf clubs (hybrid 4 and 5, 3-wood), several golf bags, women's white leather Adidas golf shoes, several women's Callaway golf watches, several gift certificates to local restaurants, a number of foursomes at our favorite golf courses (Musket Ridge, Worthington Manor, Bull Run), a Sun Mountain pull cart, golf lessons with a pro, wine tasting for four, liquor and cigars, and many other items.  Titleist is participating this year and will provide a sleeve of balls to all participants!  Finally, a photographer will be on site and will take team photos on a selected tee box as well as photos throughout the day.  Each member will receive a Gift Bag containing discount coupons from various golf clothing/equipment vendors!!!

Don't delay and miss out on a great day of golf, fun, and fellowship - all in support of the Play for P.I.N.K. organization.  To register, go to the LPGA AGA DC website ( www.ewgadc.org ) and follow the following instructions:

Hero Dogs Golf Tournament
 6 Aug 2018
  Last Chance to Sign Up!

LPGA AGA DC Chapter is proud to support the 2018 Hero Dogs Golf Tournament . At our Spring Kickoff brunch we donated $560 from our 50/50 raffle to the tournament. Let's pull some foursomes together for this great fundraising event. Visit Hero Dogs website for more information and contact Kelly Lawhead with additional questions. Hero Dogs is a nonprofit organization that improves the quality of life of veterans and first responders by raising, training, and placing service dogs and other highly skilled canines, free of charge, with lifetime support of the partnerships. Its annual golf tournament is the only fundraising event Hero Dogs hosts. Thank you for your support!
