July 2018 NYS Incubator Report
BIANYS held its 12th Annual Meeting on June 18th and 19th in
Rochester at the Nextcorps Incubator at Sibley Square.

Leaders from Incubators, Accelerators, and CoWorking Spaces from across the State met to share their experiences with each other, to network and to learn best practices in running entrepreneurial support organizations. The feedback from our members has been overwhelmingly positive about this year's meeting. Five new Incubators joined BIANYS at the meeting putting our membership statewide at 90 organizations.

Both Houses of the NYS Legislature have passed the BIANYS' HotSpot Fix Legislation and heads to Governor Cuomo's desk for signature.

ANTON XAVIER JOINS CFB IN TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ROLE

Former Pfizer Senior Scientist and Scout, Anton Xavier, has joined the Center for Biotechnology in the role of Assistant Director of Technology and Business Development. Within this role at the Center, Anton will focus on the development and implementation of technology and business development strategies that will increase sponsored research, company formation, strategic alliances, and investment with external partners. Anton will also provide oversight to the Center’s Commercialization Associates offering technology / business development services and education to entrepreneurial faculty and emerging companies.
