The mission of Summit Public Art (SPA) is bringing art to public spaces in Summit . Summit Public Art Website Gets Revamped

We are proud to announce the launch of our redesigned website at www.summitpublicart.com . The art is front and center in the new layout, and finding out about the artists and their art is as easy as a click. Tour the art using the interactive map, and learn about other art that has been featured in that location. Call for Artists and donation buttons are highlighted through the site to ensure the future of Summit Public Art and the work we do to bring world class art to Summit.

Shown on the left is the top of the home page , and on bottom left one of the Gallery pages showcasing Wendy Letven's art and giving background information on her piece "There Are Holes in My Perceptions of the Rain Forest." A map shows its location. Tour the new site to discover more about the artwork around Summit and the mission of Summit Public Art.

New Art Coming to Summit

Look for new art in Summit in the next couple of months as two pieces by

talented artists are installed. We will share locations and installation dates for these pieces via our social media accounts. Follow us to be among the first to know!

Says Shelley, "Large-scale interactive installations create a sense of community. Inclusive, optimistic shapes invite viewers to become participants - to experience it from the outside looking in or the inside looking out, gaining new perspectives."

2018 Art After Dark Gala Preparations Are In Full Swing

The Art After Dark "Save the Date" postcards have gone out, and we have selected award-wining Encore Catering to provide delicious food for our Gala guests. We will also be working with professional emcee and auctioneer Pat Tully , shown at left, to run our auction, who is known for bringing energy, excitement, and fun to the auctions he runs. As this is our 15th anniversary, we are "upping the game" in every detail of the event. We hope you will join us on September 22, 2018.

Art After Dark is our only fundraiser of the year and we raise funds for future art installations in Summit at this event. It allows us to fulfill our mission of bringing public art to public spaces in Summit. We could not do it without the generous support of private individuals and corporate sponsors.

Walking Tour of Summit's Public Art on August 5

Join SPA's co-chair Vivian Furman Rubin as she leads a free walking tour of the public art in Summit. Meet us on the park side of the Summit train station on Sunday, August 5, at 11:30 a.m. The tour runs for about an hour, as Vivian introduces the art and artists that beautify our public places.

We love seeing your artistic skills in action. Submit photos of the artwork or of your friends and family interacting with it to us at summitpublicarts@gmail.com and we’ll feature it in our emails and social media accounts. Selfies welcome! Include your name or initials and in which town you live.
