Transformational Initiatives in Downtown Brampton
Exciting developments are coming to Downtown Brampton. Three major initiatives – Centre for Innovation (CFI), Downtown Transit Terminal and further work on the Hurontario Main Light Rail Transit (HMLRT) received Council approval in June. These will help spur downtown revitalization and new development in the city's core. Building on Brampton’s 2040 Vision , these initiatives will focus on the City’s efforts to create complete communities, unlock our economic potential and reinforce Brampton’s unique position on the Innovation Corridor.

In addition, Brampton received a $30 million investment towards the establishment of the Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst. The City of Brampton is a founding partner and has committed $5 million over the next five years towards the initiative. The Government of Canada and Rogers Communications are investing $10 million each, and The Royal Bank of Canada another $5 million.

This development is the result of the ongoing collaboration between Ryerson University and the City, to make Brampton a destination for learning and innovation. Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst is scheduled to open at Brampton City Hall by November this year.
