Hydration Tips
We are now entering the hottest days of the Summer. The Raspberry Festival usually always brings extremely hot temperatures with it. Remember to drink plenty of water while you are out enjoying all of the Raspberry Events. Here are some tips to help you do this:
*Add some fresh fruit to your water to give it a hint of flavor without adding a lot of calories. Popular choices are lemons, limes, oranges, strawberries, peaches and watermelon.
*Seltzer or sparkling water makes a great substitute for soda and an upgrade from plain water.
*Add water or ice to dilute sugary drinks like juice or lemonade.
*Carry a reusable water bottle with you, and fill it up as soon as it is emptied. You can get water bottles with filters in them, so the water tastes great even if you fill up your bottle from a drinking fountain while out and about.
*Eat your water. The following fruits and vegetables are high in water content: apples, blackberries, grapefruit, lemons, melons, peaches, pineapple, plums, oranges, celery, lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, radishes and tomatoes.
Center Drug sells cold, refrigerated water bottles at our front counter for $0.50.
Stop in and purchase a water bottle before you hit Mainstreet for Family Day and the Marketplace Arts and Craft Fair on Saturday the 20th, or before the Raspberry Parade on the 21st.
Also, remember Center Drug for your suncreen needs this summer, and stop by just to shop and enjoy the air conditioning!
