July 2019
Zack's Place, having a great time in July!
July was a month filled with summer fun. Fitness was a blast working out with Bari, doing yoga with Jamie, Lalita, Tita and Amanda, we golfed at Woodstock Country Club, we kayaked and canoed on Wednesdays with Vermont Adaptive. We went bowling at Maple Lanes. We played put put golf at 4U Golf and we played games with Carl Hurd. We rode horses at Moonrise Farm.
We also were very artistic taking weekly art classes with Lynne Vanatta and Caitlin Eastman. We did crafts with Lolly and Bonnie. We had photography with Holly and art classes with Finnie.
We were musical with Kerry singing each week and drummed with Ted. We did Yoga/dance with Liz Barker and we had Karaoke with Kitty.
Just for fun we went for a boat tour around Lake Sunapee, we had a farm program at Billings Farm, we went for a swim in the pond at Frates Farm and a big highlight of the summer we had Slip and Slide day at the Hurd's house. So much fun. Carl and Joyce cooked a delicious lunch!
Zack's Place get's chosen for the 10,000 Flower Project by Founder and Artist Tim Gibson
Tim is traveling around the United States and stopping in random towns painting 10,000 flowers. He talks to people he meets and through those connections searches for a wall to paint his murals. He draws the outline and puts the color of the pedal in the outline. Then he organizes a group to paint his mural. At Zack's Place we had many participants and volunteers that painted. We love our mural and are very excited to have it as part of our center.
Tim's Mission:
Hi my name is Tim Gibson,
I'm the creator and lead artist of the Ten Thousand Flowers Project and I have one simple goal. Bring communities together by creating one giant mural, filled with ten thousand colorful flowers. To make this goal even more unique this massive mural will be split into hundreds of interconnecting parts like a giant jigsaw puzzle and created in one hundred communities across the US from Florida to Alaska. And the best part; each mural will be painted by dozens of local volunteers from each of those communities.

Tim donated the paints and his artistic talents. He does have a go fund me page:
