President's Message

First off, I hope everyone enjoyed their July 4th holiday!

Thank you to everyone who was able to come out to our Top Management Night - we all had a great time and I am honored to take over as the PAN APICS chapter president. Thank you to Dale McClung for his hard work over the past several years as chapter president.

We are pleased to announce a new initiative - a discount to PAN APICS educational courses for members of our Armed Forces - Active Duty or Retired. For more details, please click here. We would like to encourage everyone to share this with family and friends who may be eligible!

Also, we have published our fall course schedule, which includes options for all of the APICS certifications. We are offering a "flat pricing" model for CPIM, CSCP, and CLTD courses that applies to APICS Members and non-members alike. We are also going to start to offer web enabled video courses for our weekday CPIM Part 1 and our weekday CSCP courses!

CPIM - Certified in Production Inventory Management

CSCP - Certified Supply Chain Professional
The premier certification for end-to-end supply chain, the CSCP offers the opportunity to master the extended supply chain, from organizations’ suppliers through to the end customers. This is more of a "10,000 foot view" of the supply chain in comparison to the CPIM.

The APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) program is the first and only supply chain certification that encompasses the end-to-end global supply chain. APICS CSCP designees gain the skills to effectively manage global supply chain activities that involve suppliers, plants, distributors, and customers located around the world.

Earning the CSCP credential makes you a recognized expert in the supply chain field. This professional distinction sets you apart from your colleagues, proving your high level of knowledge and skills. It makes you a more valuable asset to your organization, keeping you and your organization more competitive in today’s economy.

The CSCP curriculum covers the following:

Demand Driven Planner
PAN APICS is proud to partner with ASCM and the Demand Driven Institute to host the Demand Driven Planner workshop. The Demand Driven Planner (DDP) program is designed for planning, purchasing and supply chain personnel interested in and responsible for implementing and maintaining a DDMRP implementation. Designed by the leading subject matter authorities at the Demand Driven Institute, the Demand Driven Planner program is comprised of 13 modules of in-depth DDMRP education. The DDP Program is THE official preparatory course for DDI’s Demand Driven Planner Professional (DDPP) Certification test.

What is DDMRP? Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning is a multi-echelon planning and execution method to protect and promote the flow of relevant information and materials through the establishment and management of strategically placed decoupling point stock buffers. DDMRP is the supply order generation and management engine of a Demand Driven Operating Model (DDOM). DDMRP can best be summarized as Position, Protect, Pull.
