The ReStore is Re-Opened!

We were excited to re-open the ReStore on June 23 after over three months of being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision to re-open was not taken lightly. We've gone over and above CDC regulations regarding cleaning procedures, mask wearing, social distancing, and more. The first week of re-open went well with great sales and a reunion with our loyal customers. Read more below!

As for our building projects, we are making steps to move forward. We plan to start on a new home in Freeport this summer. We are working to make sure we do this as safely as possible, keeping the health of our volunteers, Habitat families, and staff the priority. We've also resumed some of our Critical Home Repair projects, working on outdoor jobs only for now.

We hope to see you in the ReStore some time soon!

Sincerely,

Godfrey Wood

Re-Opened ReStore!

We were excited to re-open the ReStore on June 23 after being closed for over three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our staff worked hard to disinfect the store and install plexiglass and other measures to keep everyone safe and healthy. Read more about all our safety measures here.

In our first week open the ReStore had a great week, taking in almost $22,000! Customers have been excited to shop and donate, and everyone has respected the mask requirement and exercised patience and understanding with the new protocols. This patience has been very appreciated and made a sometimes hectic first week back much easier.

The ReStore, located at 659 Warren Avenue in Portland, is a discount retail outlet that sells donated new and gently used building materials, appliances and furniture at greatly reduced prices. The store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am-5:00pm, as usual. We are open for both shopping and no-contact donations drop-offs and pick-ups. We will be closed for the Fourth of July.

Staff have been thoroughly cleaning the store everyday.

Homes, Communities, Hope + You

As a result of COVID-19, many of us have spent a lot more time at home. We've been forced to consider the fundamental importance of home - of having safe, decent and affordable shelter.

In addition to the economic impact of the pandemic, light has been shined on underlying housing issues that many Americans face. Low income households are particularly at risk as a result of their economic instability and their concentration in service industry and other hourly jobs. In an estimated 12 million of these households at least one contributing member work in an at-risk industry.

We ask that you help us make a difference in the lives of our current and future Habitat homeowners. Make a donation and help us combat the affordable housing crisis!
