Gary Sutherland to Serve
as Interim Discipleship Pastor

The personnel team and deacons have voted to hire Gary Sutherland as our Interim Discipleship Pastor. We are happy to have Gary join the team in helping with this role. He will provide oversight and leadership to our Sunday Schools, vision and teaching to our Wednesday night growth groups, encourage us with D-groups, lead our premarital counseling and benevolence counseling, lead our ministry to the Franklin County jail and much more.   After a thirty-year military and law enforcement career, Gary felt the Lord's call to ministry. He and his family joined Immanuel in 2016. Gary's heart is for the truly lost and broken people in society. He began ministering to the inmates at the Franklin county Jail in 2019. Gary holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion/Christian Counseling from Liberty University. He and his wife Cyndi have been married for twenty-seven years and have two children, James and Brooke. This fall we will form a search team and begin the process of looking for a Discipleship Pastor.
Sunday Services at Immanuel

Sunday was such a blessing to have the Preschool and Children's ministries back open and to have Sunday School in the morning. It was a great day to be in the house of the Lord. For the next three weeks we will continue with our schedule of having 3 worship services (8am, 9:30am, and 11am) and offering 3 Sunday School times (8am, 9:30am, and 11am). If you are not comfortable or ready to come back to Immanuel, that's fine. You can continue to worship with us online at 9:30am through Facebook, YouTube, and our app and join a Sunday school class at 8am or 11am through Zoom (for the Zoom information of classes please see below). We continue to provide multiple safety measures throughout the building to provide a safe environment. Our safety measures include temperature checks for preschoolers, children, and youth, roping off every other pew in the sanctuary, sanitizing the sanctuary, restrooms, and classes before services (and in between services too!). Feel free to wear a mask if you would desire. A lot of people are wearing masks and some are choosing not to wear a mask. We ask for you to please refrain from handshakes and hugs during this time. Our prayer is that God would send revival and renewal to our county and church during this crazy season. We are so thankful for the grace you have shown us and each other during this unique time. May God be glorified in us as we seek to glorify Him. We love y'all.

2020 Backyard VBS: LIFESAVER

Unfortunately, we are unable to host our typical VBS programming due to social distancing guidelines. In this strange season, we have to think a little differently about VBS. The fact is that children in our community still need to hear the Gospel of Jesus! This is where we need your help! Our idea is to ask you host a one-day, backyard VBS with your kids' friends or kids from your neighborhood. This could be at anytime this Summer. It could be one hour or all day; it's completely up to you!

Don't worry, we've made it easy for you! We've made a kit with a step-by-step host guide to help you pull it off. The kit includes our suggested theme, games, lesson, and a craft. If you would like to host your own Backyard VBS and help share Jesus with your neighborhood families, click  HERE to reserve your Host Kit! Kits will be ready for pick up next week. If you want to check out the material and theme now, click  HERE to access the digital host guide!
