Changing Times
Operating in this "new normal" brings different experiences every single day.
Adaptability is the name of the game. Every business is learning new processes for cleaning, vigilantly watching employees and customers for illness, and working with local officials on how to bolster the local economy. It is a very challenging time for everyone. Therefore, it is natural that we sometimes become complacent about our pre-COVID-19 habits - including safety routines. It is important to have a CHECK-IN with your team, daily, to ensure that employees are focused on the job at hand - wearing their gear, assessing risk, and following procedures to keep each other safe. While the eye is on the coronavirus ball, let us not forget the daily safety policies that your company has developed over time. Be safe, take care of yourself, your family and your work partners.
We here at TSS are also having to adapt to changing times as well.
In an effort to hold the line on our expenses and still provide our standard of excellent service, TSS will begin operating on a shortened workweek, starting July 6. Office hours will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Many of our clients have had to adjust their work schedules during the pandemic, forcing us to change ours as well. However, TSS staff are ON CALL, 24/7 for emergency post-accident situations.
Our offices remain locked facilities with appointments required. Those coming for services, should not have traveled or been ill in the 14 days prior to arrival at TSS. We also request that persons visiting our offices wear a mask, just as our staff is.
Please note that the Department of Transportation still requires drug screening for those with DOT licenses. We do not want you to risk being cited for not completing your drug testing. So, please call us if you have questions or concerns and we'll work with your schedule to get your screening completed.
Best regards,
Renee Schofield

3 Reasons to Take a Paternity Test
|
|
|
Did you know that 300,000 paternity tests are performed in the USA, annually? Did you also know that in 72 percent of cases, the test confirms that the alleged father is indeed the biological parent?
There are many reasons to establish paternity. The science and the collection procedures are very simple, non-invasive and fairly affordable. Yet, there are still people who are reluctant to take the test and find out the truth. They worry about affecting personal finances or other relationships. Here are three important reasons to consider testing.
|
|
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission recently released new guidelines for employers regarding antibody testing.
They state:
"In light of current CDC Interim Guidelines, the ADA at this time does not allow employers to require antibody testing before allowing employees to re-enter the workplace."
NOTE: Antibody testing is not the same as COVID-19 testing.

Let TSS Take the Stress Out of Your Next Audit
|
|
|
The majority of TSS clients are experts in flying planes, driving trucks, piloting boats and transporting people and goods in other ways. Paperwork is not their specialty, nor should it be.
Therefore, the announcement of a drug and alcohol testing program audit usually induces some anxiety in employers and Designated Employer Representatives (DER).
A flurry of record-checking typically ensues because we all know that an unfavorable audit can result in hefty fines and potentially cripple a small business.
TSS wants to take the apprehension out of your next audit by helping you make sure that your i's are dotted, and your t's crossed.
