The Lisle Area Chamber is here for you and your business during these difficult and challenging times. We are continuing to offer free e-blasts to our members and will continue posting and sending those out.

As additional avenues to promote your business, we are continuing to accept videos to post to our social media. Please email Jill a short video about your business, 2-3 minutes in length taken on either an iPhone or Android. We are also asking our members to provide any updates on ways their business is adapting to the changes in the business community. We would like to feature those testimonials in our upcoming newsletters.

Dear Fellow Chamber Members,

First and foremost, the entire Chamber team hopes you and your families are safe and healthy. A little over six months ago I stepped in as Chairman of the Board for your Chamber with the intent to work closely with each of you and your companies to build a stronger Lisle business community. I looked forward to attending your ribbon cutting ceremonies and other Chamber events, meeting each of you and learning more about your businesses. Shortly after I accepted the Chair leadership role the COVID pandemic set in and created challenges across the world and in our communities. Many of you have been impacted, but it is important to know that we will recover.

Over the next six months I would like to focus on hearing from local business leaders and fellow Lisle Area Chamber members. I will be working with your Chamber Executive Director to set up online meetings so that we can hear from you and better understand how the Chamber can support your businesses through recovery. As I have always said, I am confident there are many more opportunities for our members to work together and if we think differently and work together as a team then we will remain strong. I encourage each of you to continue to think differently and work with fellow Chamber members to develop new business models, shared services or even partnerships.

Here we are in July already. What a wild ride the first half of 2020 has been. It has been unexpected, complicated, exhausting, confusing and self-reflecting. Now it is time to take the challenges ahead with full steam. We all have created ways to move forward. You are not alone in this. Using your business sense and creativity of how to think out of the box will pull you through. I am a glass half full kind of a person, positivity brings positivity. Our Ambassadors, Board of Directors and LINCT Committee continue to meet virtually. Ideas and support are overflowing. Members helping members builds strength in community. These are not new concepts, but it is good to look at them from time to time. The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to our members and their businesses. We are here to help you let everyone know you are open and ready to continue business relationships. Of course with the proper safety precautions. 

Please keep sending us your requests for free eblasts, videos and social media posts. We are finalizing information for the Member Directory and Community Profile. If you have any changes let us know.

We are excited to announce that we are moving to the Lisle Village Hall at 925 Burlington Avenue, Lisle, IL 60532 on  July 1, 2020 .

"Lisle Fit Body Boot Camp is focused on keeping our members and our staff safe and healthy. We have re-opened with a Train in Place protocol. Our gym has been segmented into 8x8 feet squares where our members stay during the full workout. All equipment is in their square and it not shared across members. Upon entering, members sanitize their hands and their shoes. Members bring a yoga mat or beach towel for their space. We have allotted 30 minutes between each session to clean and sanitize all surfaces and equipment between sessions. "How we have been surviving is going right to the new platform of teaching; elearning. Our staff was so awesome in making this look effortlessly. Our students (ages 3-6 years old) never skipped a beat, it looked like they did this before. The students and staff amaze me! Our school board and Rosehill families have been so supportive now and as we continue with our elearning Platform for our summer program. "Your Promo Partners continues to do well helping clients with masks, social distancing signage, hand sanitizer, sanitizing stations, etc. Most of our business this time of year is usually t-shirts, sun glasses, water bottles and other promotional products for summer events like Eyes To The Skies and Ale Fest. When events were cancelled we switched to printing masks and signage our clients needed to help stay safe from Coronavirus. We helped clients with printed masks as well as blank and disposable masks and rubber gloves. We also helped our restaurant clients with curb side pickup bags and signage they needed. As businesses start planning to reopen we are helping with sanitizing stations and signage as well. We even set up a special website with PPE, curbside pickup and work at home items they might need. Lisle French Market Now Open at PrairieWalk Pond!
The Lisle French Market is open on Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. along PrairieWalk Pond in Downtown Lisle. There have been measures put in place to include social distancing protocols and to protect the health of the public. These measures include masking requirements, one way entry and exits, and social distancing. View the guidelines for shoppers and vendors below. Animals are not permitted unless they are service animals or are in carriers.

There is no fee for admission and there is free parking available in the Garfield Parking lot, along Main Street and in the Commuter Parking lots located off of Burlington Avenue.

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Jim Mitsch
DuPage Pistol Shrimp Baseball Club

This month's featured Ambassador is Jim Mitsch of the DuPage Pistol Shrimp Baseball Club. The DuPage Pistol Shrimp Baseball Club has been a Chamber member since their inaugural season in 2019. Joining the Chamber and the Ambassador Committee, Jim finds it to be a great resource and also a great way for the organization to become involved in the community and grow with Lisle. This has been a challenging year for us all, and they've had to make adjustments like everyone else.

Jim is a Sales Executive with the DuPage Pistol Shrimp Baseball Club but also wears many hats (or "caps") these days. He is responsible for seeking advertising sponsorship, assisting in public relations activities and "pitching" in wherever he can. He spent most of his career in banking and investment management. The DuPage Pistol Shrimp Baseball Club is a collegiate Prospect League team composed of top players from across the country. Their home field is Benedictine University Sports Complex (they will be back in 2021). While he is new to the Team this year, he is thoroughly excited to be here.

Jim has been a resident of Lisle since 2001 and he grew up in Downers Grove. He has two sons, Connor and Cameron. Both are presently attending undergrad at UIC and University of Iowa, respectively. He is also a big animal lover.

While he is new to the Ambassador Committee, he sees significant value in reaching out and encouraging the new members to participate as much as they can and reap all of the benefits that the Chamber has to offer. Jim is able to spread the word about the team and maybe find some new lifelong fans!

Jim's favorite bit of wisdom is "Improvise, adapt, overcome", which he believe we've all learned to master this skill this year. "Batter up"
