Students were recognized for their achievements and it marked the end of an eventful school year. Their hard work paid off by wrapping up the year with GPAs over 3.0, even with the challenge of Distance Learning.

Meeting the Moment Heroes, and Employee of the Week Plus Values—What a team!
We are so proud of our youth. They were able to share their insight, concern but also hope for the future. They want to take a stand FOR Justice, Tolerance and Diversity. They did a beautiful job sharing reflection, spoken word and poetry about thoughts on what is going on in our larger society, how important respect is and how it is our actions not just words that matter. Tammy shared thoughts on how our future depends on how we treat each other. We want our youth to speak up against any sort of hate, bullying, intolerance and to resist racism in any form whether subtle or obvious. As has been said, “ Racism is perpetrated through the silence of the many more than the evil actions of a few” . An earlier generation of Americans, from all walks of life, helped to end the Vietnam War by saying “not in our name”. This is our time, along with our youth, to stand up and work for a “better tomorrow” for the youth we represent, our children and their future children. Out of the mouths of babes….such wisdom! A big thank you to Students and Staff for creating and cultivating a safe, tolerant and loving environment!
We've got talent! Residents and staff competed in a Lip Sync Contest. There were costumes, choreography, and even back-up dancers.

The Grand Prize winner, a talented young lady from Dorm A! Dorm C had 3 dynamite boys take 1st place and another young man take 2nd. Dorm B had a young man win 3rd.

Congratulations to all the amazingly talented youth and staff who competed. Well done!

Culinary Creations has been operating with our STAR Students. We miss the so much! This week Robin McCoy , Executive Pastry Chef and Director of Culinary Instruction provided an orientation for youth who now have Workability jobs or Internships (funded through our Bank of America Grant). Students learned how to go from cookie dough, to prepping for cookies, freezing, then back to Culinary Creations to be baked. Welcome BACK! Students have Food Handlers Certificates and are learning baking and hospitality. Students will be working with Robin as the Cookie of the Month Program is getting ready to be launched early August. They will be involved in helping create the custom cookie that best represents them. We are so excited for them! See more
