A Message from our President/CEO:

Dear Friends of United Way,

We continue to have a busy summer, adapting to this new virtual world. The success of our work relies strongly on our connections—with our donors, nonprofits, business partners and community. Doing so virtually can be a challenge. Lucky for you, we are up for it! We know that over 42,000 people last year were impacted by our work and we can’t let them down. We also recognize we will need your help to share our message far and wide to be successful. Here’s what you can count on:
  • We are creating shareable virtual information for partners and donors to see the impact we make in the community and to let people know how they can join us in impacting local lives. This includes videos from partners, donors and more. Plus, we've created print materials including a brochure and annual report, demonstrating our local impact.
  • We will continue to hold our Over the Edge event on September 4th at the Hotel Julien Dubuque building with additional safety precautions. This event helps generate much needed dollars for our community impact fund. Currently through this fund, 31 partners are offering local programming supporting health, education, and income. If you wish to sign up as an Edger to assist us in reaching our $80,000 goal or to make a donation to one of the BRAVE Edgers who have committed to assist us, please do so here: https://dbqunitedway.org/over-the-edge
  • We will host a first-ever VIRTUAL Campaign Kickoff on Thursday, September 10th at 8:30 am, hoping that our message can be even more widely shared across our 10-county, tri-state coverage area.
Finally, you can count on us to be leaders in the community, taking action around our communities’ most pressing issues—before, during and long after this pandemic.
Thank you for your support and in sharing our great work within your businesses, social media, and personal circles. Thank you for LIVING UNITED.
Danielle Peterson
Thank You, Donna!

Why Intern at United Way?
"Interning at the United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States was a great experience! They were flexible with my schedule and worked with me to ensure that my internship met the requirements set forth by my college for a Public Relations major. They allowed me the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects to build my portfolio and I was able to learn a lot about the world of nonprofit marketing! It was a great way to earn college credit while making an impact on my community!"- Jenna Meehan, Summer 2020 Development &Marketing Intern
