DEC staff are commended for rising to multiple challenges
During the past several months of the COVID-19 pandemic and the more recent civil unrest, the employees of DEC have set the example for professionalism.

34th Basic Dispatch Academy returns to Training Center
After having classes at the Radio Shop and the ECC Conference Room because of COVID-19 requirements, students in the 34th BDA returned to the Training Center during the third week of June, as Richmond entered Phase Two operations on June 15. Phase Three is expected to begin on July 1. BDA Graduation is planned for July 24.

New furniture and updates are nearly completed in the break room and the operations floor offices. Some additional accessories are remaining to be installed.
June social media campaigns recognize staff, educate public
Each week, DEC employees are recognized as #IamRichmond911 honorees and ask 911 questions of the public for a prize contest. May's 50/50 Raffle winner gets $127.50
Denise Johnson was the winner of the May 50/50 Raffle, and she won $127.50. The other half of the money collected will be used for 2021 National Telecommunicators Week. The next 50/50 Raffle will be in August. Make sure you have $2 or $5 in cash for your tickets!
Intrado employee assigned to DEC
     Manny Rodriguez is assigned to DEC as a phone system technician. Working out of the back phone equipment room, he will help with timely support for critical problems. An Intrado employee since December, he previously worked for Pro-Comm as an Intrado sub-contractor for the entire commonwealth.

Everyone who correctly answered "I know my June Coworker" was entered into the random drawing for a prize. Congratulations to Denesha James , who knew that Brittany Frederick was the June coworker. Both chose from a 128 MB USB drive or a wireless charging pad as prizes.
