Another piece of great news for summer travelers between the US and France last week with the Department of State extending the validity of National Interest Exceptions (NIE) for travelers subject to restrictions under several Presidential Proclamations - you can find more details later in this newsletter. Unfortunately, no reciprocity yet regarding concrete steps about the reopening of the US borders to Shengen citizens. Let's hope that more announcements are coming soon!

Celebrate La Fête Nationale at La Voile, Brookline with our friends of The French Cultural Center! Come enjoy Bastille Day à la française.
On July 14, from 4pm to 6pm: Game time for all! Board games for kids, story time en français with the French Cultural Center's librarian, face painting, card games, trivia and even mini pétanque fields! Included in the event’s price are four different Ricard cocktails for the adults as well as grenadine and mint mocktails for the younger ones.
The pétanque fields will be first come, first serve and will run for 30mins per team.
From 6pm to 8pm: Party time! Live accordéoniste, glasses of rosé de Provence, French appetizers, French songs and dancing. Please note that this is a standing-room party.

Announcing Continuum '21: The inaugural French-American Chamber of Commerce Business Summit. On September 22 & 23, join 18 National FACC Chapters for a hallmark digital event featuring 10 panel discussions, 40+ premier speakers, and unlimited group and 1-1 networking opportunities.
The event is intended to bring visibility to the FACC’s national structure and sector specializations, while engaging existing members, recruiting new ones, generating income and increasing French-American trade.
Panel discussions will convene prominent thought leaders from French and American companies to discuss transatlantic relations and specific U.S. market opportunities by sector.

Congratulations to Class of 2021 at ISB!
Congratulations to the International School of Boston’s Class of 2021! At the Graduation Ceremony on June 16th, attended by Mr. Arnaud Mentré, the Consul General of France in Boston, as well as their parents and teachers, the 12th Graders received their diplomas from Mr. Richard Ulffers, the ISB Head of School. It was a joyous day for these student achievers, and they will now continue their studies in universities and colleges around the world. We wish them all the very best!
The ISB Admissions Office is open all summer, and is still accepting applications.

US Department of State: Update on National Interest Exemptions
The U.S. Department of State (DOS) announced that National Interest Exceptions (NIE) that they have issued, and will be issuing, will be valid for twelve (12) months and for multiple entries. NIEs will remain valid so long as the individuals will be entering the United States for the same purposes underlying the original NIE request.
Since the COVID pandemic hit, both the past and current presidential administrations have issued travel bans for individuals who have been in any of the following countries within fourteen (14) days of attempting to enter the U.S.: United Kingdom, Ireland, China, India, Iran, South Africa, Brazil, and any of the Schengen countries. Individuals coming from any of these countries however may apply for an NIE if they can prove that they are coming to the U.S. to provide executive direction and/or vital support to a critical infrastructure, as defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
