When the West Louisville Now campaign was first launched last year the vestry of Calvary immediately committed $10,000 and encouraged members of the parish to give individually. We also offered to revisit this very worthwhile endeavor. On June 22, the vestry again unanimously committed to support the West Louisville Now campaign with an outright gift of $5,000 and a matching gift of an additional $5,000. It is our hope that this matching gift will encourage our sisters and brothers throughout the diocese to give or give again to support this campaign. Together we can make a difference in our community and our world.

In announcing the 2022 funding cycle, the Mission Funding Committee seeks to invest in concrete and courageous missional partnerships responding to real human needs and concerns in our communities and neighborhoods. All Saints is holding an online fundraiser throughout the month of July. Check it out here. You can contribute at the website by making a donation to help us with our prioritized list of improvements to the center, or by purchasing one of the wonderful items that have been donated by friends of All Saints including a vacation to Marco Island, a VIP tour of All Saints, UK basketball tickets, jewelry, and more.

We are working on opening plans for All Saints and can’t wait to share the improvements we have already made over the past 18 months including a state-of-the-art Disc Golf Course and an Archery Range. Additionally, with the support of the Daughters of The King and many other donors, we will be installing an 11 circuit Chartres Labyrinth this Fall on the upper campus behind the Lodge.

Holy conversation has been ongoing since we first entered this life. Early on we begin to tune it out, and we lose our way. Spiritual direction is one way we can begin to hear that conversation once again. It is like a murmuring stream that calls to us until we find it and jump into it. It is the flow of the Spirit. The Rev. Bob Coon retired from his position as assistant priest at St. Francis in the Fields, Louisville. His last Sunday was May 23.

The Rev. Roger Walker has retired from his position as Priest-in-charge at Holy Trinity, Brandenburg. His last Sunday was June 27.

The Rev. H. Elizabeth (Back) Becker was married on June 13 and has accepted a new call as Interim Pastor at Christ Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. Her last Sunday at St James’, Pewee Valley was May 30.

The Rev. Barbara White has been called as Associate Rector for Worship, Formation, and Communications at St. Francis in the Fields, Louisville. She is a recent graduate of Seminary of the Southwest in Austin and was ordained as a transitional deacon in the Diocese of Northern California in June.
