BUILD SPONSORS NEEDED FOR
FALL 2021 & SPRING 2022
Is your business, organization, church, or civic group looking for a great way to make a positive, tangible impact in our community?

Our fall builds start in September, and we are still in need of sponsors for home builds in Columbia, TN this fall and next spring.

Sponsors are drawn to the “Habitat Experience” not only because of the urgent need for affordable housing in our area, but also for the extraordinary hands-on opportunity that it provides. Sponsors come in all sizes and are not required to provide volunteers.

For every home Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury builds here in Middle TN, we tithe to a developing country to build another home for a family in need. In the past, we have tithed to Lesotho, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Guatemala. Click here to see our tithing program in action!

To learn how you and/or organization can get involved, please check out this brochure and/or contact Kim Randell at 615-550-5616.
SCOTT CARTER HONORED AT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IMPACT AWARDS
On July 20, Habitat for Humanity TN held its State Impact Awards, which recognizes volunteers all across the state who have gone above and beyond to make monumental impacts on their communities and local Habitat affiliates. During this beautiful ceremony, one of our own volunteers was recognized in a bittersweet tribute for his incredible hard work, selflessness, and love.

Scott Carter was awarded the “2021 Outstanding Construction Volunteer of the Year” for his over 20 years of helping families build homes. Scott showed up to our build sites ready to work with a huge smile and tool belt in tow, often being the first one on site even before staff! His excitement for helping others was contagious, and he was loved by every single staff member, volunteer, and homeowner who had the blessing to meet him.

Before he was able to accept this award, Scott unexpectedly passed away in early June, leaving an enormous gap in our hearts and on our build site. Scott’s family was able to attend the ceremony to accept his award and share in a moment with us that will never be forgotten. Scott’s impact on our community is one that embodies what it truly means to be an outstanding construction volunteer, and we are forever grateful to have volunteers like him to honor and celebrate.

HFHWM WELCOMES NEW
OUTREACH & EVENT COORDINATOR
Earlier this year, Bree DeMoss left her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA to begin a new chapter in Nashville. While pursuing her B.A. in Communications at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, she became an avid member of her campus’ Habitat for Humanity organization. Bree accompanied her fellow Habitat volunteers on Spring Break trips to Georgia and Mississippi, building shelters, lifelong bonds, and a passion for our mission and work.

After several years of working in marketing back in Pittsburgh, she is overjoyed to once again work with Habitat for Humanity through her new role as outreach and event coordinator.

Bree spends her downtime taking in all that Nashville has to offer! She loves to hike with her dog, Lily, explore new thrift stores and coffee shops, and dabble in photography. Bree is very happy to call Nashville her new home and eager to get more involved in the Williamson and Maury County communities.

Deconstructions take anywhere from two to four hours (sometimes longer for larger jobs). Prior construction experience is a bonus, but hands-on training is provided!
