Letter of Intent Signing Process
Volleyball Alberta has adopted the Letter of Intent (LOI) terminology for the 2022 Club Season.
Objectives
- Reduce recruiting pressure on athletes
- Reduce recruiting workload on coaches and clubs
Timeframes
Athletes are eligible to sign a letter of intent:
- 15U–18U teams: August 1, 2021 – August 31, 2021
- 13U–14U teams and unsigned 15U–18U teams/athletes: Tryout Period (after ASAA Provincial Championships)
- Athlete wellness and school volleyball season: September 1, 2021 to the start of the tryout period
- Volleyball Alberta strongly recommends that clubs refrain from offering club programs such as open gyms, tryouts, etc.

- All athletes must sign a LOI
Competition Structure – NEW for 2022
Two competition streams will be available for Women’s 15U to 18U teams to self-select prior to the 2022 Club Season:

- Provincial Championship will combine all Regional Stream teams
- More cost effective option for families (Limiting Travel)
Provincial Stream
- For More Competitive Teams Traditionally Playing in our Top Divisions
