July 2021
"My child, know this: it is not necessary for devotees to come to this spot to find me. Whoever goes within with deep devotion, calling and believing in me, will find my response." This was his message to you all. How true it is. If you only believe, if you just have devotion and silently call on Babaji, you will feel his response.

Then I said, "Babaji, my Lord, our Guru taught us that whenever we want to feel wisdom, we should pray to Sri Yukteswarji, because he is all jnana, all wisdom; and whenever we want to feel ananda or bliss, we should commune with Lahiri Mahasaya. What is your nature?" As I said it, oh, I felt as though my heart was going to burst with love, such love--a thousand million loves rolled into one! He is all love; his whole nature is prem (divine love).

Though unvoiced, a more eloquent response I could not conceive; yet Babaji made it even sweeter and more meaningful as he added these words: "My nature is love; for it is love alone that can change this world."

Only Love, p. 192

We want to thank everyone who participated in the recent online questionnaire emailed to our active members. We had a very good response and will use this information at the July Council meeting to determine when we can reopen the DC Center for meditation services. We will release the results of the questionnaire after our meeting in July.

As many of you know SRF has decided to conduct this year’s 2021 Convocation online again. All the events are free, but you must register. Registration is now open, please see the link below if you would like to register.

The 25th of July is Mahavatar Babaji’s Commemoration Day. Unfortunately, our Center will not be opened in time to celebrate this sacred day, but we invite you to celebrate this special day with us in your personal meditations.

There is a special blessing one receives when you support Paramahansa Yogananda’s work and the Washington DC Center during this challenging time. The Council wants you to know that we are grateful for your continuing donations that have been helpful for the DC Center to cover its ongoing fixed costs. Please see below for more information about how to donate to our Center or SRF directly.

SRF 2021 Online Convocation

This year's Convocation will once again be completely online and free of charge. The weeklong program will take place August 8 -14, and will include classes on Paramahansa Yogananda’s “how-to-live” teachings and meditation techniques, online guided group meditations and kirtans, virtual pilgrimage tours to the ashrams where the great Guru lived and communed with God, and more.
Staying Connected

We encourage all to stay remotely connected to the worldwide SRF family:

Suggestion Box

Due to the fact we no longer are physically present at the DC Center we thought we would add a feature called the “Suggestion Box” in which we invite your suggestions or comments. Much like the suggestion box at the DC Center, if you have a constructive idea or suggestion for our Center please send it by replying to this email. We can then review them monthly at our Council meetings. Someone will reply to each suggestion after each monthly Council meeting.
Caring Friends Team

The Caring Friends Team provides support and outreach to members who are experiencing illness, hardships, and personal crisis. For more information please contact Stacey Hawkins at 301-395-9541, callingcardevents@comcast.net.
