July 2021

Thank you Lisa Murphy!

The Ooey Gooey Lady (R) was a wild success. We laughed and learned our way through her presentations alongside Early Childhood Professionals from 10 different agencies.

We knew it was important to have a fun reprieve where we could laugh about the past and move forward with passion. Thank you to the Longmont Museum for supporting our endeavors by providing the space and to our teaching staff for being so wonderful that we had to ask Lisa Murphy, the Ooey Gooey Lady (R), to town!

Service Spotlight:

Throughout the years, our volunteer base has been impressive. This year, we were delighted to hear from Andy about his desire to give back to his community by becoming a student mentor.

When we learned that Andy was a mechanical engineer, we knew he would be the ultimate addition to our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) program.

Wild Plum Families had the option to enroll their child in a summer course that was focused on STEAM learning in order to give students the best foot forward when walking into their Kindergarten Classroom door.

We are grateful to Andy for his commitment to community and the knowledge he has been able to share with students on their way to grade school.

If you have a unique interest or skill that you would like to utilize to benefit hundreds of students in your community, please reach out to explore more options!

Gearing up for Back to School Drive!

With so many nice days left to enjoy this summer, it is hard to believe a new school year is right around the corner! In preparation for the 2021-2022 school year, we asked our teachers what items are most influential in their students' education that their families might not be able to provide.

Below is a list of their most requested items in addition to Amazon links. While you are welcome to donate items in person, should you choose to utilize your Amazon account your purchase can be delivered to 839 Meeker St. Longmont, CO 80501. The telephone number for check out is 303-776-8523.

While you're there, don't forget to set up Wild Plum Center as your charitable organization on Amazon Smile. When you shop, certain items you are already purchasing qualify for an Amazon Donation to your preferred charitable organization. Just for a reference point, Wild Plum Center has received over $280 this month alone, just from folks that set WPC as their "Smile Charitable Organization" and purchased per-usual.
