Located in downtown State College, the Fraser Centre is a mixed-use facility featuring retail space for Target, H&M, a 158-room Hyatt Place Hotel, the Federal Taphouse restaurant, and 26 residential condos.

Keller Engineers’ responsibilities included land development design consisting of building pad preparation, parking, utility services, stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, ADA accessibility, ramps, stairways, etc.

This project was completed by our State College, PA office with Michael MacNamara as the Project Engineer and Michael Pratt working as the Project Manager. We are grateful to have worked on this project which is enjoyed by students, community members, and individuals/families visiting the area.

For our Municipal Clients...

We received information, from the Pennsylvania Economy League, which we want to pass along to you. CLICK HERE for the full article we received related to pandemic funding reporting and compliance guidance for municipalities.

Once you click on the link above, you will find an article with two useful links -- one link is titled "U.S. Treasury Released Handbook to Ease Municipalities Through Pandemic Funding Process" which covers general guidance and reporting requirements. The second link is titled "U.S. Treasury Coronavirus American Rescue Plan Website" which contains key principles for use of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds.

The Growth Years - 2002 to 2006

These years saw explosive growth in all categories – clients, employees, and office buildings in Hollidaysburg, State College, and the newly opened branch in Hagerstown, MD.

A record number of 1,137 new clients chose Keller Engineers during this five-year period. Joe, managers, and the marketing team were all making cold calls to potential clients, and attending meetings, conventions, and miscellaneous events to introduce the firm and its services.

The most notable events during this period include:

2002:  Joe and Joan Keller purchased the adjoining building on Allegheny Street, which houses our Land Development Division. An overhead bridge was built on the second floor to connect the two buildings.

2004:  Keller Engineers purchased the engineering firm, Antietam Design, in Hagerstown, MD.  This branch completed primarily Land Development projects.

2006:  A new service, Structural Engineering, was added.

At the end of 2006, Keller Engineers had grown to employ 59 full-time team members!

Due to this growth, it was time to update the short and long-term goals to better serve the employees and clients. A local consultant was hired to facilitate a self-study of internal procedures, and to update the company’s Strategic Plan

The facilitator began by guiding the leadership team to update the Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Core Values. Click here to view these statements.

The study, titled “Visions for Our Future” was created with company-wide employee participation. Division-wide meetings were held to gather ideas and information, followed by several company-wide meetings. The collective format gave all employees an opportunity to participate in the plan’s development. The plan was finalized utilizing the goals and objectives for five action plans:

  • Profitability
  • Benefits to Employees
  • Contributions to the Community
  • Return on Investment
  • Organizational Growth

Stay tuned for next month's adventures of Keller Engineers.

Congratulations to Jared Keller and the Leadership Blair County Class of 2021 on their graduation last month!

Leadership Blair County (LBC) cultivates, develops, and nurtures the potential leaders within our community. Through a series of sessions, often using the community itself for its classroom, the program allows class participants to exchange ideas and information with established leaders and experts from many fields. Future leaders gain first-hand experience about critical issues as they develop the skills necessary to become an effective community leader.

Keller Engineers has had eight employees complete the LBC program, including: Paul Kirby, Dave Cunningham, Ben Piper, Rich Flango, Adam Long, Diana McClure, Stephanie Shoenfelt, and Jared Keller

Way to go Jared… Congratulations!
