Hello July!

We've now been open for a month and love seeing all of our patrons! As of July 1, we will be expanding our hours and allowing use of computers and periodicals. Protocol details are listed below. We will continue to provide vestibule pick up service by calling 732-747-9649 or by using our online catalog found at littlesilverlibrary.org.

Holiday Closing
The library will be closed on Saturday and Monday, July 3rd and 5th in observance of Independence Day, We hope you have a happy Fourth of July!

New Library Hours and Protocols

HOURS open to PUBLIC:  
Monday: 10:00 pm-8:00 pm 
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday:  10:00am - 5:30 pm
Saturday:  10:00-1:00 pm
 
Patrons and staff must adhere to the following safeguards:
1. If you are unvaccinated, we ask that you please wear a mask.
2. Do not enter the library if feeling sick.
3. Hand sanitizer will be available at the door.
4. There is a limit of 5 patrons at any one time.
5. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
6. Three public computers will be available for one session per person each day for one hour. Magazines and newspapers will also be available.
7. Table space will be limited.
 
We look forward to seeing you again!
Summer Reading!
Summer reading is well on its way! We have programs (and rewards!) for all ages - from "read-to-me" to teens to adults! We will be using Beanstack to track children's and teens' reading, which can be accessed through our website. Adults can come into the library to pick up a bookmark to track their reading.
Children's Special Virtual Event
Music and Movement!

Saturday, July 10th at 10:00 am
Join Miss Jolie and her ukulele for an energetic, interactive event filled with music, stories, and lots of silliness! The whole family will be dancing, singing, clapping, snapping, and stomping to the beat of her original songs!

This show will premiere on Saturday, July 10th at 10:00 am on the Monmouth County Library's Kids page.

Tween Special Event

Create Your Own Bracelet with Arm Candy Beading

Create your own one-of-a-kind bracelet! Choose from an array of different colors, types and size beads and personalize with a word or charm!

Storytime with Ms. Danya
Tuesday Outdoor Storytime
Outdoor Storytime will be held behind the Recreation building every Tuesday, weather permitting! Please call the library at 732-747-9649 between the hours of 10:00 am-5:30 pm to register. We will contact you to cancel in case of inclement weather; please notify us if you need to cancel.

Please bring a beach towel to sit on. Masks are optional.
 
Toddler Storytime – Ages 2-3 years with parent/caregiver  11:00-11:20  
Family Storytime- Ages 3-6 years with parent/caregiver 11:45- 12:05

Take’N Make crafts will be provided for patrons to take at end of program.

As always, we have lots of fun storytime activities for the kids from Ms. Danya. You can find them here!
New Releases!
As always, we have a plethora of newly released books and DVDs for adults and children to borrow and enjoy!

Here are some of the latest additions to our collection, some of which are also included in our list of most popular books which can be found below!
Non-Fiction/History Book Club
The Non-Fiction/History Book Club will meet on the WiFi patio at the library on Monday, July 26th at 7 pm, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather a Zoom meeting will take place. The group will be discussing Part II of "The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism" by Doris Kearns Goodwin. You may contact the library at 732-747-9649 to borrow a copy of the book!
Museum Passes
All of our museum partners are now open and welcoming visitors! Some are even open seven days a week, including the Intrepid Museum and the Museum of the American Revolution.

We've created "Take 'N Make Craft" kits for our littlest patrons to enjoy! They will be available in the Children's section of the library! Available while supplies last!
